Thanks, Jake! I probably should have given some more explanation around how she knew. In fact, I will probably go add a sentence there now. She would know he was only metal by the way he moved and when she touched him to place the blood debt. In my mind, it is harder to tell how far someone is above you (for instance she is Jade and being able to tell if someone is Diamond) vs someone below you. Since she was already metal (before transitioning into Jade) she would recognize that in Ruwen via observation and touch. Hope that made sense.

2022-01-14 17:35:26 +0000 UTCJust got caught up on all these chapters and I am loving what you've done so far. I was wondering when you have this line. “Yes. Echo knew I had only Fortified into the Metals when I met her during the Bamboo Viper trial." Unless I'm missing something Echo wouldn't have known his fortification level because in the Tournament fight with Echo she accused Ruwen of cheating, saying he is using magic to harden his body and in the Vault she says you can't use mana to cheat here and Ruwen uses his Centipede to try and fool her. Thanks for all the entertainment I've been reading and rereading these books for a while now!
