Did Ruwen get learn how to transcend space and time as he was hundreds of thousands of miles from where he originally arrived from the Center of Freedom in book 5?

I have read some books where the main character over looks something that important. In fact, it is some times not even addressed. You sit there going: "What????" But no one hears you. I am glad Ruwen is different.
