November 20, 2021 - Update

I had a much better week writing, and feel like I'm back on track. That's good as Thanksgiving is this coming week and since I'll be driving to see family, my productivity will probably suffer a little.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love the concept of it and that it forces me to spend a significant amount of time being grateful. I have so much to be grateful for.
The first three episodes of The Wheel of Time are out and I sacrificed some sleep to watch them last night. When I was younger, I loved the first part of that series, but somewhere around book eight I just couldn't take all the braid pulling and hundreds (thousands?) of pages with no plot advancement.
I have been tempted many times to go back and finish, especially since Sanderson finished the series off and I know what a quality writer he is. Maybe the tv series will motivate me. Thankfully, I read the books so long ago, I've forgotten many of the details. This has allowed me to enjoy the show and not focus on all the changes they made.

I opened up chapters 8, 9, and 10 for Root.
I opened up chapters 11, 12, and 13 for Harvester.
I added chapters 14, 15, and 16 for Step Master, Blapy's Favorite, and Divine.

As I spend time on Thursday thinking about what I'm thankful for, you will be near the top. The support I receive here makes a gigantic difference in my life and writing. Truly we are on book six because of your support. Thank you so much for being here for me and the series.

2021-12-07 16:22:34 +0000 UTCFYI, i think graphic audio picked up the audiobooks so in addition to the awesome narration of michael kramer and kate reading, they got a whole cast version with sound effects and soundtrack.

Everyones angry with the changes but really most of them make sense. They cant keep Jordan's pace because the actors will age over the fifteen seasons that will take and the story only takes place over 3 years.

Better to get in front of that. We all love fantasy series, and they could have avoided so many angry fans with better messaging.

It’s like buying milk for your cereal only to find you were actually sold coffee creamer. They may both be great, one just wasn’t what you went out to buy.

2021-11-27 00:35:16 +0000 UTCI was disappointed. I thought the set was great, but the changes were too great. Great enough for it to be a different story. It really shouldn’t be called The Wheel of Time series as that is misleading. It should be made very clear it is only loosely based on the story by Robert Jordan. It is nothing like the changes made to Game of Thrones. Those changes didn’t change the overall story too much.

2021-11-27 00:28:05 +0000 UTCWoT ending is absolutely worth the 2 decades wait, Sanderson did a great job and the last 3 books are magnificent as heck, cant wait to see how the show bears that out. So far so good though with the first 3 episodes tbh.

2021-11-20 17:58:59 +0000 UTCFirst of all, finish reading the books. Sanderson does a great job and it's absolutely worth getting through the mid series dip. I'm loving the series so far, but its hard to not get nitpicky about every change. Especially with mat being my favorite character. I understand why the changes were needed, but still hard to not be overly critical.
