Great news! Legion's Fifth Vault is finished! Hurray!
Well, the first and second draft anyway. I am working on the third revision now and hope to have that done in the next couple of days. Then it's off to a couple of proofers to check for errors, and then it will be released into the wild.
Every book is special and different in its own way. Legion's Fifth Vault differed in that while the ending scene burned a hole in my brain from the beginning, the Prologue and Epilogue were not obvious to me when I started the book.
I know many people hate Prologues and Epilogues. "Just make them chapters!" people say. But for the series, it gives me a very limited chance to show a different perspective. I really like how the beginning and endings help to shape everything in between and what comes next. It helps provide some of the bigger picture.
About half way through book five I realized what the prologue needed to be. But for months, I've worried about the epilogue. What piece of the larger world needed to be shown?
As the final chapters were being written, the answer became obvious. And all I can say is wow. I hope I didn't try and do too much with it.
Today's four chapters transition into and begin the fourth tournament fight. It is my favorite. Although you will all kill me for where I left you.
Speaking of that, my expectation is that I'll release four chapters for each of the coming three weeks as well. So much happens!
Like I do with every book, I will release all the chapters to Root and above before the book is available anywhere else.
Anyway, this update was really long. TLDR; Go read this week's chapters. haha
I opened up chapters 44, 45, and 46 to Root.
I opened up chapters 47, 48, 49, and 50 to Harvester.
I added chapters 51, 52, 53, and 54 to Step Master, Blapy's Favorite, and Divine.
