Added 2020-09-26 06:56:08 +0000 UTCThis book is now published on KU. KU has rules requiring no more than 10% of a book be available by other means. Due to this restriction, I have removed this chapter.

Ugh! Stupid Patreon ate my responses. This is the third time I'm writing this. You are right about this being the first time durability has had an impact. I think the 6/100 was how many charges were left in Whiskers ring. But Ruwen will need to figure out a way to get his stuff fixed. I don't want durability to play a huge roll in the story, but it is something that happens and makes the world more real.

2020-10-03 17:40:54 +0000 UTCIs this the first instance of an item's durability becoming an issue (apart from clothes melting)? Does he have a way to repair his items? I always assumed armor would be less effective if durability dropped, but do all items have some sort of negative effect? If memory serves, Whiskers is at 6/100. How does that item get damaged? Does he only get a few uses? I don't think this is the best spot for a lengthy explanation though.

2020-09-29 23:52:11 +0000 UTCYou say there are 5 robed people and 10 others but when you list out the different classes there are 15 others plus the 5 priests. Only odd thing I noticed in this chapter.

2020-09-29 02:50:32 +0000 UTCI think that’s easily fixed, while also making Ruwen conscious of his oversight. “Analyze had proven useful, but the four second delay already irritated Ruwen. Rarely would he have four seconds to wait for critical information” ... “, and he felt foolish that he hadn’t anticipated that initially.” ...or something similar. It provides a very clear “and this is the exact moment where Ruwen learned that lesson,” which can then temper subsequent choices moving forward.

2020-09-29 02:35:07 +0000 UTCGreat points. It probably wouldn't hurt to remind people about Rami's limitations, since many people forget details like that. Regarding Ruwen, I should probably make that portion a little more thoughtful as I'm trying to show growth in his choices. I tend to think of Ruwen as someone who wants all the information possible, likes to think about it all, and then make a decisive decision and not look back. I really appreciate all the thoughtful comments you add as they are insightful and help me to be intentional about the things that happen.

2020-09-28 23:28:33 +0000 UTCThose quiet, tense pauses from Rami is a stark reminder that, now that they’re back in the physical realm, she’s back to her restrictions regarding assistance in matters of life and death. As a reader who remembers that detail, it makes Ruwen’s choice to keep going even more tense, because I know that she’s thought of potential complications that he hasn’t. Also, it’s *so Ruwen* to spend multiple chapters agonizing about the distribution of his points, and then drop four of them in an instant because the wait time is annoying. I’m not saying he made the *wrong* choice, but it’s a reminder that he’s not nearly as smart as he thinks he is, both because he didn’t foresee this problem to begin with and that his eventual motivation was impatience.

2020-09-27 22:50:27 +0000 UTCI feel the same. The progression is very satisfying for me. Ruwen isn't someone to screw around with anymore in close combat.

2020-09-26 21:48:06 +0000 UTCYes, one of my favorite parts. He really is devastating in close combat now.

2020-09-26 21:46:43 +0000 UTCThis is such a thrilling chapter. I felt the tension the whole time he was hiding. Its also such a departure from the Ruwen we know who could barely put up a fight and now taking down Naktos pawns like that. epic.
