We are approaching the end of book three. You probably already noticed I only published two chapters this week. That’s because I want to have a little buffer over the next month as I work on the rewrite and editor’s notes. I am going to work really hard to get the book out by the end of July.
Shade’s First Rule launched on August 1st last year, so it would make me happy if book three came out before that. I wish book four was coming out, but that just isn’t realistic for me right now. In fact, I need to step back and realize what an accomplishment this is and think about how it happened.
And the answer is…all of you. Since July 28th of last year, I don’t think I’ve missed a single week delivering chapters. I have never, in a decade of writing, been that consistent. You are the reason this story marches forward week after week. You hold me accountable, and I appreciate you all so much for it.
As with the second book, I’ll make sure all the chapters are released on Patreon before the third book goes live. Because I have pushed myself by delivering three chapters a week, I don’t have the backlog of chapters I did for The Second Betrayal. That means we may be on to book four chapters before book three is released. I guess we’ll find out together how that plays out.
I opened up Chapters 43, 44, and 45 to Root.
I opened up Chapters 46, 47, and 48 to Harvester.
I added Chapters 49 and 50 to Step Master, Blapy’s Favorite, and Divine.
