First, I hope you are all safe and healthy.
This week was very productive for me. I finally wrote some scenes I've been picturing in my head for a year. The book is over 80% complete now, and I can see the finish line.
Next week closes the chapter on one story arc and begins another. There are tons of housekeeping items, but I don't think those will hit till the week after next.
One thing I've thought about this week was chapter length. Generally, my chapters are almost always around eight pages long. Earlier this year I started to write in Comic Sans instead of Arial because I read how it helps with productivity and things like writer's block. While likely not true, there has been one significant impact.
While I still write around eight-page chapters, Comic Sans is 20% larger than Arial. This means my chapters are actually shorter than before. Not sure what that means for the final product. I actually prefer shorter chapters to longer ones, so I'll probably just leave it. It's funny how my brain latched on to the eight pages, and not word count though. It just goes to show how easy it is to deceive yourself.
Anyway, not much else to report. All my free time has been devoted to writing, which makes for a boring life.
I opened up chapters 34, 35, and 36 to Root.
I opened up chapters 37, 38, and 39 to Harvester.
I added chapters 40, 41, and 42 to Step Master and above.
