I've had some flashbacks to early August 2019 this week. I'd just released Shade's First Rule, and the initial feedback was mixed. The series doesn't follow many of the common tropes, and this upset some people. As a writer, I am writing the story I want to read. As a person, I want to please everyone. We all know that's not possible.
First books take the brunt of this mixed feedback. Since the series is unknown, many give it a try and discover they don't like it. The only people who continue reading the series are those that the story resonates with, making the feedback more positive on the later books.
Which brings us full circle, because the series is now available to a new audience, the audio-only group. So the same thing is happening now, that happened in August last year. A growing pain that is necessary for the series to find its true audience.
The Second Betrayal audiobook moved into "Heading to Retail" in ACX this week, so I hope that means it is available next week.

I've opened up chapters 28, 29, and 30 to Harvester.
I've added chapters 31, 32, and 33 to Step Master and above.
