FUWAMOCOのダブルバトル (高画質版 ) | FUWAMOCO's Double Battle (High Resolution )

Sorry for not updating frequently again.

今回の日記では、この絵がどのようにして生まれたのか、その過程をもう少し詳しく、もちろん高解像度で共有したいと思います。

In this journal entry, I would like to share some more thought process of how this drawing came to be and of course with a higher resolution.

ということで、今回のイラストのインスピレーションはポケモントレーナーです。今までFUWAMOCO のポケモンテーマで、トレーナーっぽいイラストを見たことなかったので、「自分で描いてみようかな？」と思って描いてみました。

So, the inspiration of the drawing of course is based on Pokemon trainers. Up until now I have not seen a pokemon theme of FUWAMOCO that makes them look like a pokemon trainer sprites, so I thought " why not draw it myself?"

おそらくフワワとモココはポケモンシリーズ全般にあまり興味がないので、まだゲームを配信していないのでしょう。

Maybe Fuwawa and Mococo aren't too interested in Pokemon series in general, hence why they didnt stream the game yet.

もちろん、最初からダブルバトルトレーナーとして描きたかったのですが、どこから始めたらいいのかわからなかったので、ゲーム内のスプライトをいくつか検索して、アイデアを得られる良いポーズがないか探しました。

Of course, from the start I wanted to draw them as a double battle trainers, but I don't know where to start, so I searched several in-game sprites to see if there are any good poses that I can get an idea from.

これまで、ポケモントレーナーのスプライトの中には、テーマ上はダブルバトルでペアを組むことが可能なものがいくつかありました。しかし、ダブルバトルのみを行うデュオトレーナーは実際にはほとんどいません。その中でも、ふわもこに一番しっくりくるのは「チームメイト」（日本語では「センパイとコウハイ」）と呼ばれるダブルバトルトレーナーです。スプライト自体はこんな感じです:

Up until now, there are several pokemon trainer sprites that technically can be paired together for double battle because of their themes. However, there are really not a lot of duo pokemon trainers that only do double battles out there. Out of all of them, there is a double battle trainer called as "teammate" (japanese is called" Senpai and Kohai") that probably fits FUWAMOCO the most. The sprite itself looks like this:

ポーズが決まったので、スケッチを描き始めました。FUWAMCOの普段着ではなく、カジュアルな服装を選びました。街で見つけたスニーカーには、カジュアルな服装が一番似合うと思ったからです。最初のスケッチは以下のようになりました:

With the pose found, I then started to sketch out the drawing. I picked the casual outfit for FUWAMCO instead of their regular outfit since I feel that the casual outfit fits the most for a trainer found on a street. The initial sketch looks like the following:

個人的に、あのポーズのフワワの右腕をイメージしてスケッチするのが一番難しいです。あのジャケットのデザインがよく分からないからです。

I personally have the hardest time in visualizing and sketching Fuwawa's right arm in that pose, because I have a lack of understanding how that jacket is designed.

線画とベースの色付けを終えたかなり後になって初めて、腕が不格好に見えることに気が付きました。

I didnt notice how the arm looks wonky until very later when I finished the lineart and the basecoloring.

ようやく腕の修正と色付けができました。

At last, I was able to get the arm corrected and colored.

After coloring all of them, this is the final result without the background items:

当初はプラスルとマイナンを入れる予定はなかったのですが、背景の装飾アイテムを入れても絵が少しスカスカに見えてしまったので、ポケモンを入れることにしました。

Initially I wasnt planning to add Plusle and Minun, but the drawing looks a bit empty even with the added decorating items for background. It looks like this at this stage:

それで、ポケモンを追加しようと思ったんです。この間、他にも追加したいポケモンは考えていましたが、できれば相棒や亜種がいるポケモンが理想です。

That is why I thought of adding some pokemon. I did think of other pokemons to add during this time, preferring to be pokemon that has a counterpart or variants.

頭に浮かんだポケモンの中には、犬のような見た目で進化形が複数存在するルガルガンがいます。ザシアンとザマゼンタも考えましたが、FUWAMOCOにこの2体の伝説のカードを渡すのは公平ではないと思います（引くのも難しいので本当に重要です）

Some of the pokemons that came into my mind are Lycanroc, because it is a canine-looking pokemon that consists of several different evolution forms. I also did think of Zacian and Zamazenta, but I dont think it will not be fair to give FUWAMOCO those two legendary to fight against players (also hard to draw, really important)

最終的に、プラスルとマイナンを選びました。サイズが小さくて描きやすいからです。色合いもそれぞれふわわとモココにぴったりです。

At the end I chose Plusle and minun because they are much smaller and easier to draw. Their color pallete also fits Fuwawa and Mococo respectly.
