How to practice on tour
Added 2025-03-21 02:06:38 +0000 UTCHello everyone,
I want to give you a little update and the reason why I haven’t been able to post a lot yet.
But first I’ll give an insight about how we manage to practice a little bit on tour. In reality there is not really a lot of time to practice because the schedule is pretty packed. So what we try to do is, getting together for half an hour before soundcheck to practice difficult parts of the set together. We use a MacBook with the Scarlett interface by Focusrite, plug in our guitars and just split the headphone input so we can connect two headphones. Then we just go over difficult parts of the songs together and warm up at the same time.
Now back to why I got so far behind my posting schedule. 4 people on this tour have been diagnosed with Pneumonia and 2 with Bronchitis. They are all taking antibiotics right now. Pretty much everybody else got sick as well, including me. Not that heavy though but still. We had to play a few shows without our other guitar player Eyal because he was simply not able to and stayed at the hotel in Helsinki to recover and he is planning to fly back to us whenever he is better.
Now we’ve played all of the shows before with his computer and we had to use mine as a backup. But he is responsible for how a lot of the stuff in our rack is connected. Everybody in the group has different tasks. So we almost had to cancel a show because of out how to make it happen. It was definitely a challenge to figure it out without him.
I’m planning on doing a few short side stories from that tour which will give you a great insight on how this looks like.
Also I want you to learn from our and my mistakes in every aspect as an active musician. So whenever you play shows with your own band, make sure to have a backup and plans for all possible scenarios.
And taking care of yourself should always be priority number one. I’ve seen so many people getting into really scary situations because of not doing it.
Another tour update soon,
Rafael

Hope you all recover soon! Take care, Rafael! Wish you could enjoy your tour without illness and that stuff. Very difficult to cover all possible scenarios. What a challenge! A thousand thank yous for sharing, especially under these conditions.
