Setup and practice routine for the upcoming Daath Tour
Added 2025-02-13 00:14:33 +0000 UTCAs you know I’m preparing everything right now for the upcoming tour, and I’m using Reaper for the very first time!
It’s one of the most stable DAWs I’ve heard. We will play with plugins live, so there are a lot of automations to program. It took a while to set up this session but it’s running now. I just have to make some adjustments on some of my sounds. We are using several Neural DSP plugins as well as a Bogren Digital plugin for the guitar tones.
My practice routine at the moment is basically 2 hours per day, just going through these songs. I don’t wanna do much more because some parts are very fast and technical and I don’t want to hurt myself by extending the routine. In the past this strategy was very effective.
Anybody of you using Reaper and having experience with using it for shows? I would like to know that.

I use it at home in a live way ;) Mapping actions/macros to a USB or MIDI controller is a huge plus—I use a Stream Deck Pedal to trigger effects and recording while jamming.
