Venusaur’s great flower blooms magnificently when exposed to sunlight, spreading its broad petals to catch the rays and convert them into energy. The more sunlight and nutrition it receives, the more vivid and radiant the flower becomes. In summertime, Venusaur’s power grows considerably, as it thrives under the brightest sun. The flower emits a rich aroma that varies with the weather: after rain, its fragrance becomes especially strong, luring nearby Pokémon. In battle, the soothing scent has a calming effect, easing hostility and bringing a sense of tranquility even in the midst of conflict. Venusaur is never idle for long as it moves about to find the best sunlight, its flower blooming fully only when it is basking and storing solar energy. The sight of a healthy Venusaur in full bloom is considered one of nature’s most stunning spectacles.

My Thoughts

My little green frog finally grew into such a massive unit. Just look at him, big enough that I’m certain he could carry me around without breaking a sweat. Honestly, if a Venusaur ever stepped on me, it would probably be similar to being flattened by an elephant with my bones crushed instantly. I’ve never really trusted the Pokédex’s weight listing. For something this size, plus the gigantic flower on its back, there’s no way it weighs as little as it says. The scent of its flower is so calming that I can’t help but wonder if it’s actually releasing some kind of psychoactive drug that chills out Pokémon and people alike. Apparently the amount of sunlight it absorbs even changes the color of its flower, which is something I really wish we could see in the game. It was a beast against Giovanni, Lorelei and Bruno. Not much help against Lance and was a really terrible matchup against Sabrina, Blaine and Agetha. Really useful in catching the legendaries as it helped give them status conditions to make capturing them easier. It would be really hard to have a Venusaur in real life as it’s too big, unless you have the land to keep him. The plus side of having one is that it could help you create your own miniature forest.
