Weiss Schnee sighed as she walked through the streets of Vale, arms crossed tightly. The evening air was crisp, the city lights reflecting off the fresh snowfall. It should have been peaceful, but her thoughts were clouded by the latest letter from her father. She needed something—anything—to distract herself.
That was when she heard it.
“Whoa. White hair, blue eyes... a shame about your oppai, but I'm sure they’ll grow. Are you an ice princess?”
Weiss froze mid-step, eyes narrowing as she turned toward the voice. A young man stood a few feet away, wearing a torn school uniform that looked completely out of place. His brown hair was messy, his expression a mix of awe and something... concerning.
He was staring. At her.
“Excuse me?” she snapped, already bracing for whatever nonsense was about to follow.
The boy grinned, completely unbothered by her sharp tone. “Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself! I mean, I just got here, I have no idea where I am, and then bam—I see the most beautiful girl ever.”
Weiss’s eye twitched. “What.”
“I mean, I’ve seen some gorgeous girls before, I think, but wow! You’ve got the whole elegant, untouchable thing going on. Are you single? Wait, more importantly—do you like guys who work out? Because I—”
“Stop talking.” Weiss held up a hand, expression caught between disbelief and fury. “You are insufferable. Who even are you?”
“Oh! Right, introductions. I’m Issei Hyoudou, the future Harem Kin—”
Weiss turned on her heel. “I’m leaving.”
“Wait, wait, wait!” Issei rushed to block her path, hands raised defensively. “Okay, maybe I came on a little strong. My bad! But seriously, I have no idea where I am. One second, I was in Kuoh, and the next, I’m here with no clue what’s going on.”
Weiss frowned. “Kuoh? Never heard of it.”
Issei blinked. “Wait… so I’m not in Japan?”
She pinched the bridge of her nose. “I don’t even know what Japan is.”
For the first time, Issei looked genuinely shaken. He turned his gaze upward, staring at the darkening sky. “Oh.”
Weiss had no idea what that meant, but she already regretted stopping to talk to him.
“Look,” she said, crossing her arms, “you clearly have problems, but they’re not my problems. I suggest you go find someone else to bother.”
Before she could leave, though, there was a deep, guttural growl from the nearby alleyway. A pair of red eyes flickered in the darkness.
‘A Beowolf. How? We’re in the middle of the city!’
Weiss instinctively reached for Myrtenaster, but before she could react, Issei stepped forward. His carefree demeanor vanished in an instant, replaced by a look of pure focus.
“Oh, you’ve got monsters here?” he muttered, more curious than alarmed. Something about that felt odd, like he should be more surprised. But instead, his body moved on instinct.
His left hand raised, and with a surge of red light, a massive, dragon-shaped gauntlet materialized.
[BOOST!]
Weiss inhaled sharply as a deep voice echoed in the air. A wave of power surged around him, kicking up a gust of wind that scattered the fresh snow.
Issei’s eyes widened as he stared at his own hand. “Wait. I know this thing.” His heartbeat quickened. This… this was important. More important than anything else. But why? He could feel the power thrumming through his arm, the weight of the gauntlet familiar, yet alien in a way he couldn’t explain.
Before he could process it further, the Beowolf lunged.
Issei didn’t even flinch.
His body reacted before his mind caught up. He only threw a single punch without thinking.
The monster exploded on impact, vanishing into black mist.
Silence. Weiss could only stare, her brain struggling to process what had just happened.
Issei turned back to her, completely casual. “So, uh… where exactly am I?”
“What… what was that?” she finally asked, her voice strained with a mix of disbelief and annoyance.
Issei, still grinning, scratched the back of his head. “Oh, that? I don’t really know what that was, but it was definitely a monster. Can’t say I was expecting something like that in the middle of a city, though. How’s a guy supposed to know where the dangers are around here?”
“I’m not talking about the Grimm. I’m asking about that gauntlet you summoned?” Weiss asks angrily.
Issei simply shrugged as the Boosted Gear disappeared.
Weiss exhaled slowly, pinching the bridge of her nose again.
“This is going to be a headache.”
Weiss exhaled slowly, her irritation rising like the temperature in a furnace. She didn’t want to deal with this obnoxious stranger, but there was one thing she knew for sure. He was dangerously powerful, and if he was wandering around Vale with his strength, he could easily cause trouble.
She narrowed her eyes at him, crossing her arms tightly. "Look, I don't have time for whatever this is. But you’re clearly lost, and I’m not about to let some idiot with a red gauntlet wander around Vale unsupervised."
Issei blinked in surprise at the blunt assessment, but his grin never wavered. "Red gauntlet, huh? I like the sound of that."
Weiss's eyebrow twitched, but she continued, "So, here’s the deal. You’re going to follow me to my school Beacon. I’ll let someone in charge figure out what to do with you. Ozpin or someone."
Issei’s face lit up at the mention of “following” her, his eyes practically gleaming. "Beacon, huh? You’re not just a pretty face, huh? Got a fancy school to go with that ice princess vibe? I’ll follow you. Especially since I’m stuck here anyway."
She rolled her eyes, already regretting her decision. "You’re insufferable," Weiss muttered, but the truth was, he wasn’t completely hopeless. If only he’d stop talking.
"Well, that’s not very nice!" Issei said with mock hurt, but then his eyes flickered over her form, his grin widening. "I’m just trying to be a good guy here. Plus, you're, uh, really beautiful. Even if your chest’s a little small."
Weiss froze mid-step, her face flushing crimson. "What did you—"
"You know." Issei continued, oblivious to the scathing look she gave him, "It’s not that big a deal. You’re still perfect."
Her eye twitched. "You’re really pushing it." She said, her voice tight with barely-contained annoyance. "Just follow me, and try to keep the idiocy to a minimum."
Issei, however, seemed unfazed by her barely-veiled fury. “Oh, I can do that!” he said cheerfully, as though oblivious to the fact that he’d just reduced her to a walking vein of anger.
