Lara Croft Bondage Story with Writer's Commentary

Hey everyone! So I promised a few week's back that I would be re-posting all of my DeviantArt stories on this page with what I like to call "Writer's Commentary". These stories will be available to Patrons of all levels since they can also be found on my DeviantArt page, but I figured that I would give you guys a little insight into what went on in my mind as I wrote these stories. 

This was my very first story, all the way back in 2010! Wow, I can't believe that I started bondage writing ten years ago! How time flies! At that point in my life, I had been thinking about writing bondage stories for quite some time, and I knew that I wanted my first foray into fan fiction to be about Lara Croft. But first let's go waaay back and meet teenage Val.

Teenage Val always knew that she enjoyed the sight of women in bondage, but also for the longest time assumed that no one else got a kick out of the sight of woman bound and gagged. Eventually though, I stumbled upon a whole online community of websites dedicated to the sight of women bound and gagged. For the first time I felt like I wasn't alone! Then I discovered the C3C comics/cartoon captives correspondence group on Yahoo (which I believe is still around), and on that site I discovered a serialized She-Ra bondage story. I remember being completely enraptured by this story, and that's what first planted the idea in my mind of writing a similar tale. 

There were several factors that ultimately caused me to settle on Lara Croft as my first bondage story. At that point a great many of my bondage fantasies centered around Ms.Croft and various scrapes that she got into. The idea of a busty adventurer in tiny shorts constantly getting caught by the bad guys was quite a titillating one to me, and the fact that Lara Croft has never really had a proper DiD scene really drew me to her. Most of my stories and fantasies revolve around characters who have never really been bound and gagged. I love April O'Neil, Wonder Woman, and Batgirl, but there's a plethora of both mainstream scenes and fan art of those characters in bondage, and I think what drew me to write about Lara Croft was that I wanted to add something new to the discourse.

But also what drew me to Lara was that she was a character that could conceivably find herself in all sorts of situations. She could get caught by bad guys who were trying to raid the same tomb as her, or she could get caught going undercover in a skimpy evening dress, and both would work for her. Also at this point I knew that I was into humiliation and Lara being already dressed in a skimpy outfit left her open to being in all sorts of embarrassing situations.  I remember being in my impressionable early teens and watching pro-wrestling with my brother and see images of the sexy wrestling women being stripped down to their underwear (usually tiny thongs) by their opponents, and that had a big influence on my work. To me, it was sexy to have a tough, capable character like Lara Croft bound and gagged, but it was sexier if she was humiliated by being tied up in her underwear too. 

So, after having the images from this story stewing in my head for years, I finally decided to sit down and write them. At this point my Deviantart account had been active for maybe four years or so, but I was only using it to favorite art and not post anything. Looking back, I really had no idea what I was doing or where I was going, and the writing in this story is kinda rough and it's obvious that I was very green at the time, but the Deviantart community was very welcoming and encouraging when I first posted this.

Nowadays when I write a serialized story like Damsels Anonymous, I plot the whole thing out from beginning to end and then write out the whole story, and then break it up into increments and release them monthly. Not so much with this story or any of my first stories. I really had no idea where I was going with this one and kinda just made it up as I went, but somehow it all seems fairly coherent. 

A lot of the situations that my damsels find themselves in are inspired by other scenes, and often times they are scenes with men in distress. I don't have an aversion towards men in distress but I often find myself thinking that those scenes would be so much sexier with a lady bound and gagged, and this first story takes a lot of scenes that originally had men in distress and replaced that male character with Lara Croft. 

Lara's first scene in this where she finds herself bound and gagged outside a tomb was vaguely inspired by a scene in "Abbot and Costello meet The Mummy" where a male high priest character gets caught by bad guys and tied up an and gagged outside the Mummy's tomb. It's a brief scene but it gave me the idea of what if Lara Croft gets caught by rivals while trying to raid a tomb and is left to struggle tied up while they raid the tomb instead. I added in that they bind and gag her with gauze and that they weren't going to gag her at first until she calls for help. When writing the story I realized that since I establish that they are out in the desert that there would be no reason to gag Lara, so I added in that she sees a jeep passing by and tries to call for help. Plus I liked the idea that the tough and usually defiant Lara realizes that she may have to play the damsel to get out of this situation. Another thing I love about this scene is when Lara tries to entice one of her captors with her cleavage because it further accentuates how helpless and desperate she has become.

I don't know where I got the idea for her to be stranded in the desert and slowly strip out of her clothes because of the heat, but once it got into my head I loved the idea. Originally when I first came up with the concept I vaguely had the idea that Lara would be found wandering in the desert in her underwear by a sheik's caravan and they would take her prisoner, but I didn' t know where to go from there so I abandoned the idea and jumped to the ballroom instead.

The bondage scene where Lara is tied to the bed and gagged with panties was also inspired by a GiD scene. It was scene I found on YouTube where a blond woman seduces a man, ties him to a bed, and stuff gags him before killing him. The blond in the scene wore a blue thong like the one that I have Marie wearing in the story and I came up with the idea that she takes off the thong and gags Lara with it. This is also my first time flirting with bondage leading to public humiliation in a way because I write about how the paparazzi take photos of the bound and gagged Lara Croft when she's discovered by a maid, leading Lara to try and repair her reputation. I later reused this idea in the first volume of Damsels Anonymous where Tanya posts a photo of Felicia bound and gagged in the town newspapter, leading to Felicia's motivation for the rest of the book to become trying to salvage her reputation. 

Next is the boat scene, inspired by a Sherlock Holmes scene. It's one of the old Basil Rathbone Sherlock movies where Sherlock and another guy are confronted in a room by bad guys, and the other dude is dragged out while Sherlock is left bound and gagged on a bed by the bad guys (Rathbone's Sherlock got bound and gagged quite a bit in these old movies). So that was the basic root of the end of that scene with Lara left bound and squirming on the bed. I liked the idea that the two women are caught changing by the bad guys, literally exposed and at their most vulnerable, and one is bound and gagged and carried out while Lara is left behind. The image of a bad guy cradling a bound and gagged Lara in his arms is also quite a sexy one to me because she is a character that would absolutely loathe that.

Then we get to the big finale, Lara tape gagged and almost buried in cement while Marie dangles above a rock crusher. I'm a big fan of cement peril, and this particular scene was taken by one of my favorite GiD scenes, one of Bill Bixby's scenes from the classic Incredible Hulk show. In that scene, Banner is knocked out by the bad guys and wakes up to find his hands and feet taped. Of course, before he can say anything they slap some tape over his mouth before he can say anything and then place him in a hole to fill with cement. Of course he hulks out and saves himself. 

At this point I was still testing my limits and seeing how far I could go with a story before someone told me I was going too far (to date, no one has told me that I've gone too far... yet), so I was still playing it low key with the humiliation. For me, there was something that I loved about Lara clipping a small knife to her thong and writing about the feeling of the cold metal pressed between her buttocks, and eventually having that knife snap her small panties. I feel like now if I wrote that scene I would have taken it a lot farther. At the end I also hint at a possible Lesbian relationship between Marie and Lara, and once again I feel like if I wrote this story today that I would have taken that a lot farther, but alas, I was young and unsure of myself. 

Additional note, this is meant to be the classic Lara Croft since I wrote this before the reboot (which I love, btw).
