Steam + Rework, Update #12

Hello you beautiful people!

Joe's initial scene has been completed. This was one of the potential troublesome scenes for Steam, as it featured Heineken branded cans. They've been replaced with my generic beer bottle brand and it now has some additional detail and funnies to make having him as your roomie a bit more worthwhile. The impromptu party scene is in full swing, and not far off from being done. Just have to complete the cocktail guessing game and the individual character scenes. This is one of the larger scenes in the entire episode and apart from the Omega gym introduction, the rest are all relatively on the smaller side involving less characters. Developing during the summer is an absolute nightmare, especially now with two machines running in my tiny little office. 🥵

The awesome Merlin (one of our great Champion supporters), has been helping me out to try and obtain information and licensing for a list of songs I gave him some time ago. Unfortunately, most didn't come back positively (or at all). One of the bands straight up said I could use their song, without any strings attached, which was awesome... but the rest never responded. So, I'll have to resort to finding replacements that are a little more on the generic side. I did find someone producing pretty decent heavy metal genres and only charging $20 per song, and that'll do for now, as it's good enough for general scene use.

I couldn't find anything appropriate for Natasha's scene, where you're listening to a song and genre of your choice together with her. If you've been paying attention, she mentions at some point that she loves Black Metal. This'll change, as I can't find a good licensed track that matches the atmospheric kind with her personality like the one that's currently in game. I'll simply rename it to "Atmospheric Metal", and it's no longer Black Metal. Not a major change, but something to keep in mind if you play Episode 2 again in the future.
