Steam + Rework, Update #02

Hey all!

Posting the devlog a little earlier, as I'll be flying abroad for work tomorrow. I'll be spending the week there, and return on Friday. I have to do this 3 to 4 times a year on average, and it's always a good opportunity to get my PC going and rendering for that entire week while I'm away.

Speaking of PC's, thanks to all of you I'm able to invest a bit more and get another PC. I'll replace my current rig and set up the old one as a render slave. The new RTX 5090 supply is currently very scarce around the globe, but the company that's going to build my new custom rig, estimates it to be ready by the end of February.

I spoke with another dev recently, and he was curious about the rework. Like many of you, he had the memory of the early episodes not looking as bad. So, I showed him some direct comparisons. He could clearly see the difference and could immediately tell, so I thought I'd post them to you as well. The difference is not so bad as you play from start to finish, because the quality gradually increases with each episode. But putting them side by side, it's quite different. Not only is this work important to get rid of the copyrighted material/branding, it's extra important to make a visual impact and not turn people off straight from the start. I've got many things working against me as it is, so I have to make improvements where I'm able.

When I started, I had much shittier hardware, not an entirely solid pipeline, unnatural lighting, basic simple shaders, broken DAZ textures, and numerous other issues. All of those issues have been ironed out during the EP4 development. It's not perfect, of course, but it's getting better.

Not much else to say other than it's moving forward nicely!
