Episode 4, Update #30

Hail!

I was out abroad for work for a week, but I managed to get quite a bit done when I returned. I've build up a hefty qeue to render, so that's the bottleneck as per usual. I shouldn't have called out a potential finish date by the end of October, it was a dumb call-out considering everything that's left to do. I'm making good process through the last few scenes and I'm not compromising. I have been thinking about shortening, cutting down on things, but for the wrong reasons. Before, I used to set deadlines, cut a lot of extra content, just so I could get it out in a timely manner and perhaps gain more support. But that doesn't seem to make a difference anyway, and all that really does is create a lesser and rushed version of what I really want to get out to you.

I want this episode to end on a bang (quite literally multiple times)! I might still cut one or two scenes, mainly because it might be a little early for something to happen. But I'm not entirely sure yet. I'll tackle the ones that definitely are happening first, and see how I feel about the additional ones.

I've split up the very large scene I spoke of before into multiple smaller ones, as that helps with seeing a better progression rate. It looks like it got bigger, but it's not, it's just split up into more smaller manageable chunks and as you can see, a few are already completed (bar rendering the final version, which are currently ready in the qeue). I need to create a few unique props/objects that are very important for future episode(s) to complete the main body of the scene but that shouldn't take long. There's many people involved (all of them with a few more unique outsfits) and a few variations on the scene, so it's a bit of a ball-ache to set it all up and account for all the right variables and expanding the wardrobe collection.

I'm sure when the testers get their hands on it, they'll find a problem here and there... though I'm trying not to make mistakes obviously. The first time I released 3.0, it was impossible to get together with Rosie for example, and that's not something I wish to repeat...😁

Anyway, it's getting closer!

All the best,

Ezy ❤️

excited to see who will train us in the red side, maybe Talia will get more spotlight?

DarKnighT

I guess there was more to a ".1" than I realized 😊.

Merlin

I'm glad you don't get sick of it, truly! ❤️ Yes, it's possible now indeed to get close to Rosie, it was fixed in the 3.1 release (which is the one everyone should have).

Ezy

Hmmm. So to be a QA tester you have to run through the game until you are sick of it? Well with me, you know that is not ever going to happen. Over 8 times (before I lost track) and I am still not close to being sick of it 😄. And... if you keep making pics like that, I am going to have to raise my tier 😏. I just notice something else. It actually may be possible to get "close" to Rosie. I did manage in one of my many play throughs I did at get somewhat close but it was NOT easy. Of course it was only in a "future" sort of way 🤔.

Merlin

Correct, and as long as that dictionary is cohesive and gets the point across, I'd be very happy with that! Ping me on Discord when you're ready and I'll get you sorted. Though there's nothing to test yet obviously. 😁

Ezy

So basically. - 100% the game's current update on a religious basis. - Report back to you if anything seems amiss, either in the program itself, the story element or just if the game runs smoothly. - Keep it hush-hush and only discuss it with other people who are also quality testing. ... I mean, if you don't mind me talking your ear off with a dictionary sized report, then I'm up for it

J-Leaf

Yes, however there are a couple of things you need to keep in mind before doing so: It's not meant to get early access to the game just so you can play sooner, it can be very broken, you'll be spoiled, and I often ask your opinion on how you'd feel about certain additions. It's meant to report back to me that something doesn't make sense, doesn't work or in some cases even is just a stupid idea that's no fun. You need: - Access to my Discord server, where it happens. - Be willing to write and report anything broken as soon as you come across something. - Not talk about anything specific related to an upcoming release anywhere outside of the designated channels. - Be willing to run through the game multiple times, practically until you're sick of it, as I need all possible paths and combinations tested as much as possible. If you're happy with that, you're welcome to join us. ❤️

Ezy

... Can I be a quality assurer?

J-Leaf

QA = Quality Assurance, an official and fancy way of saying "testers". 😁

Ezy

Geez. Seems like a lot to do with little time to do so. But it is fair to assume that we're on the final stretch, since now the only thing left are a handful of scenes and some editing. One last question... QA?

J-Leaf

I don't think hope is ever naive. Thinking about it with some quick maths, I believe QA needs at least a week to get through everything. I also need at least a week to get all the unlockables rendered, gallery updated, bugs sorted and some revisions made. So that's at least two weeks of non-story related stuff. That would mean I'd have just under two weeks to finish the remaining scenes, which is ambitious with the spare hours I have. I'll probably also drop dead by the end of it. 🥵

Ezy

Would it be naive to hope for a November release?
