Episode 4, Update #24

Preview is random again, because I simply can't show much more or it will ruin your surprises.
A lot has progressed these last two weeks. I finished the previously mentioned environment and character work much sooner than I expected, and the scenes on Ivan's branch are coming together very nicely. I'm using a lot of volumetric lighting for these particular scenes, so the bottleneck currently is rendering them. Having only one machine means I can render no more than 8-10 a night. 😒
The diagram (high resolution attached) has changed quite a bit from the previous dev-log, with more details added. I've started fleshing out some scenes in more detail, which previously I only knew the major beat for. I know now exactly what needs to happen there, so they've gotten a 10% boost.
I've written all the details for the second to last shared scene, and it's freaking massive. It's likely going to be the largest and most complex scene of this entire episode, with at least 8 different outcomes and various levels of lewds along the way. That's a scary scene to me and I was actually looking to see if I could potentially move it to the next episode instead, but I can not as its crucial to the overall story arc that has certain things happening that need to happen before the final scene. 😔
I've taken two weeks holiday from my job, mainly because I'm going to a friend's wedding for a few days at the end of August. I'll have quite a bit of time to push this project hard for several days. I don't really want to spend all my spare time on this project as I got close to burning out several times already during these last two years, but I don't want single updates to take two years either. 🥵

2024-08-11 16:08:04 +0000 UTCI feel like an idiot. I had to look up BSOD. It has been almost 20 years since that happened to me, but I sure remember how bad it was 😄. I am glad that is fixed.

2024-08-11 15:48:52 +0000 UTCMan, I had to count the time I spent on the work at least 3 times, as I couldn't believe it myself! 😂 I also forgot to mention that I fixed the software crashes and constant BSOD's with the latest BIOS updates and other tweaks. Unlike many other devs, this PC didn't blow up and is back to how it was. I probably jinxed that now though... 😰

2024-08-11 15:11:58 +0000 UTCI had to read the "much sooner than expected" three times before I could believe it. I never hear that from any dev 😄. I am really starting to love your flow charts. They really show how things are progressing over all and how complex this game really is. I have been saving them all so I can compare them (they are very interesting). From what I can see you really need two PC's. If they only weren't so damned expensive 🙄. Unfortunately you cannot use a base line PC to do this kind of rendering. Last of all, is Liliana pointing at you saying "just finish that dev log and get back to real work?" 😂.
