After High Artificer, What's Next?

Thank you so much for reading Guardian of Aster Fall over the last three and a half years.

It's been a wild and amazing journey.

Book 9 is the final book of the series, but as Sam said, it is time for a new era to begin.

The first book in a new series will be out this year, around early summer 2025.

It will focus on a new main character in the era of magic that Sam just kickstarted, where the Seventh Evolution and greater strength are possible.

There are some surprises in store.

Here's the blurb:

Wild Era: A LitRPG Adventure.

For 5,000 years, the Wild Era of humanity has reigned supreme, where strength and magic are the source of everything

Kelin Wildfire, once called the Archmage of Wild Mana and the greatest warrior of his era, died in battle on the frontier of the Chaos War a thousand years before. He was betrayed by his allies, but his soul lived on in the cycle of reincarnation, his memories frozen in time.

Until today.

In his current life, he is barely twenty years old, the son of a stone mason and a weaver, living on the most lawless planet of the human domain where he is barely able to scrape by. He takes up a job as a stone miner, searching for rare ores and gemstones in the mana-filled depths of the mountains, but treachery from local thugs triggers a cave-in that nearly kills him.

The collapse of the mountain releases a mana pulse that strikes his soul, awakening memories of his past life where he was something more.

Half dead and without any mana, but with the memories of an Archmage, he decides to rise again.

This is the Wild Era.

Where the Wild Mage will reign supreme.

Keep an eye out for the release!

Early chapters will be posted on Patreon starting immediately, usually 2-3 a week.

There are several other potential Aster Fall projects I have in mind that might or might not happen, including a book for Altey's academy years and a sequel book or two for Sam going across the Nexus (probably set many years in the future).

We'll eventually see Sam again, but for now he's going to be in the background of the galaxy doing neat things.

I also plan to write River of Fate 4 (my cultivation series) soon, but I'll have to work it in around Aster Fall books.

Feel free to chime in on Patreon or Discord about what you'd like the most. I always take it into account.

If you want to know what happens to a certain character (or at least my current idea), Patreon chat or Discord is a good place to ask.

Thanks so much for reading and all the support!

I hope you'll like Wild Era just as much.

Continuing the ROF series would be awesome. Great concept and a much steadier progression and build up of the main character. Guardians of Aster Fall was brilliant, but admittedly I eventually felt like Sam’s absurd power grew too quickly. ROF storyline seems to be following a more gradual evolution, which I personally prefer.

piresn

bit behind but need a River of fate please book

Mike Weiser

Sounds good! and we all hope to see more on Sam in another series. Plus YES! YES! on ROF next book. I started to read your books with the first book of ROF and liked the series so much that I looked at what else you had out. I found Guardian of Aster Fall and loved it. I found I read the whole series you had out in just few day. Keep up the good writing and I will be there to buy and read your books.

Randy Smith

Awesome! Thank you!

Talmadge Hires

Thanks for being an awesome author David but I signed up for RoF. it's been fun watching your stories grow and I can't wait to buy them on audible and or kindle. thanks for always responding and untill next time So long. 🫡

You never know - the Author could write a couple series, The wild Mage and hopefully Altey's Academy series and what she does after and then he could easily start a new Sam series. Multiplying the timelines and characters a author can write about within the same universe is usually a good thing, helps save them from getting bored with one story line if they can finish a book in one series and write a book in series two and three each with different characters and timelines.

StarWolf

It will be here. No need to go anywhere else.

David North

Yeah, people keep mentioning that. I suppose they are his enemies now, but they used to be his allies. I’ll probably flip it around.

David North

I’m definitely biased since I haven’t read river of fate yet. But I’m now invested so I do want to know about more Sam and the titans on the other side, with new stories or ones on Altey in this universe as secondary. But I’ll read into the river of fate series next and that might change.

Brian Schwab

This page is for him as an author so it should be here along with any book he writes, but after they go up on amazon he has to remove the chapters for them due to terms of kindle unlimited.

Brian Schwab

Question how can you be betrayed by your enemies? That's how you start the wild era blurb. In most cases you expect to be betrayed by your enemies and hope that your allies have your back

Natox Biohazard

river of fate 4 Please I cant wait to find out what happens next

Jeff Homer

One question? This is my first Patreon account. Will the wild era just start here? Or will I need to look up a different account?

Talmadge Hires

I like the idea of altey’s academy years but that’s because I enjoy academy stories :)

Catherine

It's been a great series! Sad to see it end

Ori Shifrin

Hey thanks for the update! Wild Era sounds like a great start to another great series in a beloved universe. I know some people prefer new everything as a clean break but personally I think expanding on all your well crafted world (universe) building with more stories in a similar seeing can only make for a richer starting point. Keep writing what you love and clearly your skill will keep shining through bringing us great stories-- thanks again and keep up the great work!

Jacob

Blasphemy!

MarineDebris

How about a series with the teenage kid who was getting attacked and chose to goto the. New planet with new magic new world to build. Maybe even have the character set up with long lost relatives who also chose to leave their bad circumstances like slavery or servitude to a bad master. I think the reincarnation thing is kinda done to much.

MARK MACKNET

Bittersweet to see a series end but it has to at some point. This has been one of my favorite series in LITRPG genre since I found it around the time you finished book 3. I'm excited for Wild Era and the potential for the blending of an old and new magic system.

Shawn

I like that one too. Except the parrot.

David North

Sam will probably go beyond the Nexus at some point. It will be a while (a million years unless he gets there faster). I'm not sure if I'll write anything about his children, but that's something to think about.

David North

3) I'll post her status sheet here on Patreon if you remind me again. I need to clean it up a bit.

David North

1) Yes, it'll take over for the World Core on Aster Fall. It'll be better for people there. The Path has all the same knowledge (borrowed from the Core) and way more power. 2) The World Limit will be removed very soon, allowing people to level past 399. The world is already stable enough, so Asenya just needs to change the rule. She'll do it in about two years when she fixes the World Core.

David North

I have a thing for it, apparently. RoF does it too, sort of.

David North

Kinda interesting that both of these books start with the MC locked in a mountain trying to learn magic. Seems that's the secret to unlock hidden powers. Too bad where I live is all farmland...

Aaron

THANKS A TON!!!!!!!

David Carr

I’ll try to get to it soon, if I can fit it in. It’s about 10% as popular as Aster Fall, unfortunately.

David North

I know I keep harping on about wanting to meet the Titans so here’s a set up for it… Sam already mentioned that eventually his path of stars would expand until it covered all of the other galaxies in the cosmos, which means eventually it’ll hit the other side of the Nexus. What I wanna see is the scene where the path of stars finally reaches the other Titans, and then all of the originals who helped build the first path get all offended, like someone touched their custom hotrod. Then they come screaming back over the other side of the Nexus yelling “ALRIGHT, WHO TOUCHED MY SHIT!!!”

Aaron Schwartz

Sad that book 9 is the end of such a great series. I hope it answers many of the questions about what’s happening on the other side and leaves the door open for future books. Can’t wait to hear more about my favorite dragon in human form in your other series!

IndyBart

If I’m being honest, anything other than Sam’s POV would be a letdown after this. I grant you there are definitely people here who want an Altey school series, but I don’t. I do want to see more Sam, more Asenya, and I desperately want to see Sam meet the other Titans. I’m not gonna unsubscribe from your Patreon because I very much look forward to the next River of Fate, which definitely should come next, and because you said we will get back to Sam eventually. Unless you tie it heavily into legacy characters from this series, I’m not sure I see the point of another character in this universe with this system. It would just feel like you’re starting a new IP, but without the extra spice of figuring out how the system works and figuring out its origins because we were already there for all of that.

Aaron Schwartz

1. Does the path over take for the world core on aster fall? Or do the people there get the old world core forever that won’t evolve or be updated with new paths over time like Path Of Stars will? 2. What will happen to the people on aster fall when the world limit is removed because Anysa fixes the world core? 3. Could we get Atley’s current full status and full skill list? Or will you save that for the potential spin-off?

PurpleLynx

Do you think you will come back to Sam in a future series? or maybe his children?

Jacob Krafnick

Sounds cool, please lock in on RoF though cultivation books are so good. PS anyone looking for a good series rn, look up I Will Seal the Heavens, it’s a translated Chinese book so the writing can be a little off, but the story is amazing.

Alexander Ball

Ahh was hoping for RoF 4 to be the next book ya worked on. Love that series.

Hammy

Thanks for this series. If you're taking a poll or looking for an opinion, I'm personally fiending for more River of Fate, but Wild Era sounds interesting as well. Looking forward to whatever comes next.
