NOTICE : New Rules listed below
- * What fictional (anime/game/etc) character do you want to see me draw next for this week? The character with the most votes will be my next character to draw for this week.
- * Message me via DM what character you want to put in the poll if you're a $5 or above tier Patron and I’ll include them in the next poll! Ex. [Name of the Character] from [Title of Anime/Game/ETC] 2 Nominees per Patron.
- * In the event that a tie occurs, the character who is higher in the order of the poll will be the one drawn for the week.
- * Only a limit of 5 characters per series can only be in the poll. Example being that only 5 characters in Fire Emblem/ Genshin Impact /etc can be in the poll every week. This is to make sure 1 series does not overwhelm the entire poll and other nominees.
- * I will remove the lowest character vote counts in the following week. Regarding the 5 or less characters under one series, the lowest 2 vote counts will be removed per series alongside other 4 characters that will be removed if they have the lowest vote counts that aren't part of multiple nominees under one series.
- * A character who recently won cannot be nominated for 4 months, this also includes alternate versions.
- * When two characters from a same series/franchise has won in a span of a month, any character from said series cannot be voted and temporarily removed for the next two weeks, this is to ensure that characters from other series have better odds in getting voted.
- The nominees from the series that will be suspended for two weeks WILL RETAIN their original places in the poll when the series returns.
- * I will also be conducting a poll containing all the lowest vote counts as the only nominees before they are removed. This kind of poll will be done in random intervals and random number of nominees.

Do not expect me to draw underaged characters or underaged looking characters looking as they are. They will either be aged up or drawn in a wholesome/SFW way.

I don't know why you think I'm trying to compare Engage to a game that came out twenty years ago when the only games I've directly mentioned are Awakening and 3H; most pre-Awakening fans got in on Blazing Blade, and most after that came in on Awakening. Awakening also turned ten last year, it's as contemporary to Engage as Blazing Blade was to Awakening. But to be clear, imo, even compared to the 3DS games Engage still feels like a regression. I don't think Engage is terrible, I think it's mediocre and by the numbers. It's not particularly replayable, I don't want gacha mechanics in my mainline FE games, I don't enjoy obtrusive and grindy hub areas needlessly increasing the time spent between maps, and I'm not going to praise it when most of the gameplay improvements it offers are either just reintroducing old systems dropped by 3H/Awakening or are changes I don't think are comparative improvements (like weapon breaking). And yes, compared to other straightforward games like Awakening and Path of Radiance I don't think the presentation is anything praiseworthy either. None of these are controversial or uncommon opinions if you go anywhere where Fire Emblem is discussed and I'm not saying that you didn't have fun or can't enjoy it. If your first reaction to this is to call someone a boomer then maybe it struck a nerve.

2023-08-08 08:08:01 +0000 UTCOk so if understanding this thing correctly: Engage is a terrible entry in FE because the esthetics, characters, world and gameplay are not quite as appealing as older gen FE. Please let me know if I hit the nail in the head... Because if this is the case than it sounds like a opinion of a salty boomer. I'm not trying to be rude, but I just feel like it's somewhat narrow minded to shut a game down over not having or carrying the feel of game that released over 20 years ago and (in all respect) many of us have not played... And no I'm not talking about Awakening as an old entry since that one is still very much contemporary imo

Does adding more depth to the weapon triangle system like break to be more strategic in terms of deployment a “regression”? I can name more but this is hardly the place to do this kind of discussion now. Might as well dis-Engage this before it blows up.

2023-08-08 04:28:45 +0000 UTCI ain’t gonna lie, I can’t remember half the cast but I kinda respect how Alear is one of the few “normal” people in a game that doesn’t take itself seriously, though the tone is inconsistent. One of the first things they did is run away when meeting the Corrupted which is one of the most logical things an FE lord has done

2023-08-08 04:05:06 +0000 UTC3H is an outlier when it comes to the FE fanbase. Like Engage, it's not a traditional FE game and doesn't appeal as much to the older fanbase, and having heated fan discussion over who's in the right has not been a consistent facet of FE discussion. Fun is subjective and I don't think that alone warrants giving a game a pat on the back. Pong is fun and enjoyable, and so are most of the FE games before Engage. My issue with Engage isn't that it's not "deep" or dark - Awakening is in my top three FE games and it's very straightforward - it's that Engage is a regression of what FE is supposed to be and doesn't have anything to make it stand out comparatively.

2023-08-08 03:30:43 +0000 UTCThe 3H discourse is seriously one of the reasons why I’m turned off by it whenever I see people still arguing about it. Our opinions may differ but I genuinely enjoy Engage moving away from any discourse causing faction war that 3H had caused that is still going on rampantly until now that it has become toxic in a lot of areas. Engage seriously deserves more credit than it does as a fun game with fun characters, not everything has to be “deep” and dark in a game to be enjoyable anyway.

2023-08-08 01:43:50 +0000 UTCIt's not FE fatigue (there's a lot of great FE characters like Ishtar, Tana and Mia that will never win a poll because they're from old games) I just don't like Engage. I don't want Heroes taking over the mainline FE games, and the overall aesthetic of Engage just looks like a generic gacha with vtuber avatars instead of something distinctively Fire Emblem. All the arguing over 3H could be annoying but at least people were arguing over something interesting. I really don't get how something so by the numbers has the polling power it does.
