Game Development Roadmap

So this is supposed to be a to-do list or a roadmap for the time being while the project is still in development. The things you saw in the very first build totally did not look super impressive or in any way impressive at all, this is exactly why it's accessible to everybody to decide if it's worth the attention and is in any way promising. The developer is not denying that he took his sweet time figuring out previously unknown territory of Unity game engine, C# programming language while having almost zero skills in 3D-modeling and animating that can generate a result that can be proudly presented. But even the Rome wasn't built in one day, so there are more things to see in the future and that's going to be the topic of this post.

We want to tell you about things coming in the next update:

- Better camera control (a player will be able to move the camera around, not just rotate it);

- More animations;

- Rating system (in-game currency that the player will be able to collect during the match and spend in the shop unlock new things in the future);

- Fixes to the animations;

- Basic characters' sound effects;

Now let's talk about general ideas that are going to form and shape the project through the whole development process all the way to the very last version. The features are ordered in the way of "further from the top - later to appear":

- More animations;

- Better camera controls;

- Rating system;

- Fixes to the animations;

- Basic characters' sound effects;

- Better quality for models and animations;

- Transition animations (transitions are gonna be as important to have as grappling animations, at least two transition are gonna be implemented for each grab (entry and exit transition), teleporting from animation to animation is a temporary thing while transitions are in the making);

- Shop (a place to spend rating points or unlock new things if you got enough rating points);

- Character selection;

- More characters;

- Outfit selection;

- More costumes;

- Map selection;

- More arenas;

- Abilities (for movement and grappling);

- Actually competitve AI (instead of being a punching bag for the player);

- Pop-up menu to select grabs;

- Bigger variety of match rules and types;

- Gallery mode;

- Grapplers' entrances;

- Rating boosters (something like "crowd cheering for using the move they want = +rating, you do something they don't like = -rating");

- Story mode;

Before we're done, let's point out a few things that are, in our opinion, the hardest to do, so they are at the very bottom of the list, but one day are gonna be in the game:

- AI voice-acting and responses to various scenarious and actions;

- Custom story creator;

- Modding support.

The order of upcoming features may differ in the future, the reason for it is not just because of our ability or inability to do things in time, but also because right now and from now on it's gonna be right about time for us to talk to you about the future of the project. Just like without your support, without your opinion SPSVisuals will not last in a long run. We aim to create an experience that is not available anywhere else. So, even if the ideas from our to-do list still gonna be the main pillars of the project, without your ideas, we would not be able to recognize the project as the one close to it's completion.

So, in conclusion we have a few questions to ask everyone around here. Do you believe in SPSVisuals? Do you believe in the future of the project? If you are not yet ready to answer those questions, we invite you to stay with us until you decide.

Thank you for your time and attention and enjoy your stay here.
