2025-03-13 18:20:36 +0000 UTCOn the topic of sub v dub: I feel anime voice acting is generally seen as a more prestigious career in Japan than America and so it naturally attracts higher quality talent than English VA. Overall the acting is probably factually better in Japanese. That being said... I don't speak Japanese. So for me as an English viewer I feel that I get more nuance out of the English voice acting as I can understand where the tone differs and what is a joke or not (for some examples) by just listening as opposed to having to read it first and guess what inflection was put on what word. So I prefer dub

2025-03-13 07:06:44 +0000 UTCOn sub vs dub. It's funny but the whackier the laugh is, the more spot on the dub seems to be at replicating it XD. And Brook's dub voice actor is absolutely nailing it. From the mannerisms to the singing. Very pleasantly surprised by how good he is because it's part of what sells this character in particular.
