When it's canceled for being too gay it really only means it's too gay to edit the gay out for an international audience. Too gay to sell to china since that's one of the biggest markets that Disney sells to. Just means it's too gay for them to hide the gay by changing dialog or cutting a scene or two.

2024-09-26 13:10:36 +0000 UTCThere was initially a lot of speculation it got canceled for its queer content, especially in relation to a particular high-ranked person not being a fan of the show/seeming to be the main voice in its cancellation per Dana Terrace's Reddit posts IIRC. The only other aspects would be the serialization and/or the darker tone that S2 takes. I personally lean towards the LGBT aspect not "helping" (especially in relation to the concept around the Disney 'brand') and serving as an easy scapegoat to cancel the show behind the scenes without outwardly saying so to Dana or the public.

Though I have to say I've been waiting for forever to see your reaction to the letters, that was definitely a huge "whaaaaat?" moment for me.
