Reamer looking at Neekia in cell.

R: this is the one I wish to speak with. have her transported to an interrogation room, Warden.

W: of course, Commissioner. Right this way.

warden leads him away from the cell and down a hallway, into a white room with a table.

R:(My mother appointed an Osprey as Warden down in this swamp? Seems more of a punishment than actually being locked up here -)

W: sit here. the prisoner will be brought in momentarily. I’ll warn you now - you mother has plans for this lot, and I’m ordered to keep them in functional condition.

R: she will be

W: see to it. (leaves)

R: (does he…think im going to harm her or something? is that usually done here? does he think so little of the title of Commissioner…or just me? his face…reminds me of -(thinks of Ky))

Neekia brought in by a guard, restrained and seething. guard cuffs her to table.

G: the Warden says you have an hour. (leaves)

reamer and neekia look at each other, neekia glaring.

N: well, you’re not the last person I expected to see, i’ll give you that. hurry up and ask your questions so i can get back to rotting away.

R: you’re…being treated adequately here, i trust?

N: (rolls eyes) they feed us every now and then, if thats what you’re asking? do you want me to write a trip review or something?

R: we knew each other, once. it’s normal for me to ask about your wellbeing.

N: you paid me to sell illicit substances at your little frat house parties - i’m not sure we ever reached the pleasantries exchange stage of our relationship.

R: (smirks) I suppose not.

N: get on with your actual interrogation, then.

R: What do you know about the croaking?

N: sorry - what - croak - frogs?

R: ok. what do you know about the crow king?

N: you’ve just said the same thing twice, are you just here to piss me off or -

R: …no matter. i can see im wasting my time.

N: i couldve told you that.

R: …you turned on your former Boss pretty swiftly, in the end.

N: (jaw clenches) it’s protocol, when you discover they’re not fit to lead.

R: and what were his shortcomings.

N: Cyras didnt have many shortcomings, but when you find out the person who pulled you from homelessness, who gave you a family, lied to you the entire time, that sort of tarnishes all those fond memories.

R: tarnished enough to tell his secrets to someone who would be willing to get you released from here in exchange for them?

N: (laughs and spits on the table) even if that were a real offer, no Crow would ever turn on their own, especially not for some Eagle.

R: (thinks back to brek calling him the loneliest person in the world) my mother has plans for you, you know. one’s you won’t like very much.

N: we’ve been allowed to exist on this island by your mother’s goodwill alone. if you don’t think we’ve been expecting, waiting for her to turn on us any moment, you’d be mistaken.

R: you don’t even want to try to fight back?

N: (looks around) what use would that be? where would we even go? we’ve been living on borrowed time, used as scapegoats, blamed for everything regardless of our innocence, because it served her purpose.

R: why did you sabotage my wedding?

N: maybe it was just for a bit of fun.

R: i dont believe that.

N: then don’t believe it.

R: (calls to guard outside) we’re done here.

guard leads her out.

N: i hope you got all you needed)

tiraas ring drops from her waistband. reamer picks it up, recognizing it. neekias eyes are wide. saying nothing, reamer puts it in her hand behind her back. shes confused as shes led away.

W: something arrived for you while yo were indisposed

R: oh?

W: your wife.
