P: (looking at paused screen of roost hallway) now i know i was right to feel like someone was always watching me in that school. what is all this? you were just spying on everyone all the time?

L: I was in charge of monitoring conditions and gathering intel at The Roost. Unfortunately, since my rather unglamorous exit and the discovery of my cameras there has been a thorough cleansing of my eyes from the building. always ruining my fun.

C: i knew there was an operations manager planted, but i didnt even think they’d use a student for something so delicate. (glares at T)

T: Hey, Lars proved himself more than capable for the mission. just a shame it had to come to an end so quick, now we’re left a bit blind over there.

M: My Government?

C: surely you dont believe that drivel about the rest of the world being destroyed, Major? this Island isnt even that far from the nearest continent - how would it alone have been unaffected by any kind of mass-extinction, or destruction event?

M: i-

T: (turns to lulu) and who’s this? a House Finch? i take it you werent at the Academy?

C: Lulu worked for the Brakindales before being brought to the Wastelands by Del Brakindale.

L: (smiles) del, you say? he was my finest work…the effects were slow-acting, a languid descent into insanity…a perfect test specimen -

M: he was…relatively sane when we found him.

L: on the search mission the Director finally sent you on, despite you begging her to do something for months.

M: i had a duty to the students, even the privileged ones.

T: will that nobility extend to your conscience and enable you to join a just cause?

M: join this - this vigilante group? who encourages the poisoning of innocent bystanders, imprisons staff, and marches them for days across wasteland at gun-point?

T: (takes cookie, burning tongue and dropping on plate) and i never will

C:. the news said the Crows involved in the wedding fiasco were apprehended. Crows have been transported near here, presumably to a prison. i dont believe in coincidences.

T: Your Murder abandoned you, you said so yourself. i know you feel responsible for them, but this is -

C: i am responsible for them. forever. even if i die trying to save them -

T: (quiet) you made promises to us, too.

C: (holds neck tattoo) im always too liberal with them, it seems.

T: let me help you. we can leave Keelee here for safety. I can help you rescue your Crows, then we can all leave this Island.

C: you’ve decided on it, then? leaving?

T: if i stay here I’ll be arrested, or worse - Bonded off to someone elseto try save an Eagle bloodline. you told me there’s an entire world out there that ive never seen. it’s sort of a no-brainer.

C: why try help us, though, when you could just leave the Island by yourself?

C: your half of our deal was to spy on the Director from inside her own family and report back to me for the rest of your life. . i’d say that ship has probably sailed at this point, wouldnt you?
