2023-09-17 05:47:09 +0000 UTCGlad you liked the first episode :) Because One Piece has its own art style and everything just fits together in every frame, it is not a big problem for people to enjoy it today. Something you can`t portray in the Live Action very well is the difference between normal Luffy and serious Luffy. The actor did his best but in the anime they place shadows on faces or black it out to a degree which is not possible with normal lighting in real life. This adds so much to the facial expressions in this show. Coby is way different here because the way he starts, is a lot different in the LA. It is a good and needed change to make him a believable character in the show. Luffy shows here that he doesn't support weakness or people that give up. Coby was changed by him in minutes, just talking about his immense dream of becoming king of the pirates. So Coby talked back to Alvida and Luffy decided that it is worth to support him.

2023-09-16 14:23:42 +0000 UTCIt's always fun to watch someone react to One Piece, but the element of Live Action first compared to the anime is especially interesting to see. I agree, Luffy felt a bit nerfed in the Live Action. I understand that because of budget it was probably too difficult to have him do everything he can in the anime and at the speed in which he can do them. In addition to the fact that villain actors can't be as huge as they should be from the anime, they kind of had to scale things down. In certain scenes where Luffy gets hit and then is panting and worn out as he slowly gets back up from being thrown...that bugged me a bit considering in the anime Luffy would just spring back up instantly with all the energy in the world, but I get it. Great first episode! I'm excited to see you continue on the OP anime journey!
