Daisies

I found this AI artwork, and I thought it looked easy to recreate so I started working on it.

The flowers had to be done with geometry nodes, so I immediately asked youtube for help, and I found this amazing video. I followed it through, made a flower and customized it a bit, and the hard part was done. I cut out a plane and placed them inside the frame.

The lineart sets the vibe so I made it look hand-drawn. The envelope modifier does the heavy lifting, it makes the curved parts (end of the petals) slightly thicker which makes the outline look awesome. Added some dash dot and noise modifier too to make it look even more organic.

I didn't use light for the cell shading I used normals (here's my video about how to do it). Added depth effect (I explain it here) for some background separation, and that's it for the shading. The shadow sunder the palette and the frame are actual objects.

The animation is done with geonodes (one slider to bend the flowers). To achieve this stepped animation I did the following. It's only 30 frames long and 24 fps, I rendered it and put it into davinci, I then changed the speed of the clip to 25%, this made the animation slower and only change after every 4th frame resulting in this hand animated, stepped look.

It felt great working on something fresh. I like how it turned out.
