Diggy Diggy Hole Chapter 26

Across the great and terrible Morne Mountains, a great conclave was held between the Slayer King Ungrim Ironfist in the hallowed halls of Karak Kadrin and the Runesmiths called to this meeting.

The room in which the meeting was taking place in was a large and glorious hall. The pillars holding up the hold were decorated with the carefully engraved heads of past Slayer Kings and Slayers who died in glorious combat while also taking their opponents with them.

"This... Is no work I recognize beyond it being a true Rune Weapon of power. Power that not such a young runesmith should be able to create." The Rune Lord Azak Stonebreaker of Karak Kadrin spoke with a voice akin to stones rolling down a mountain.

The dwarf Rune Lord himself was old yet his form was tight with muscle as being a Rune Lord he was so infused with the power of the Winds of Magic and combined with his utterly stubborn will.

He was just too stubborn to get old and die like any normal dwarf. No, he was too damned busy to just die.

The Rune Lord carefully put the powerful warhammer that the beardless dwarf had sent onto the table before another dwarf brought it over to the Slayer King Ungrim Ironfist.

Ungrim's thickly corded, muscular arm picked up the hammer with a grunt leaving him as he muttered. "It bears the work of a beardless boy aye. Yet crafted with the love and skill of a new Runesmith."

The Rune Lord added with a huff. "Still the shoddy work of a beardless runt. If he was ma apprentice, I would cuff his ears seeing the hammer work he put on the head of that hammer."

Then Ungrim also handed down the hammer to another dwarf before, with a mighty crash, he slammed his thick fist through the large stone table with a roar. "And them damned Drakk are messing with a child of a lost clan! I will take that feckless dragon's head and mount it on the holds walls!"

The other Runesmiths nodded furiously at the cry for aid that came from Kharn of Clan Barruk. A clan that they just learned had been wiped out by the Thaggoraki, and almost all of the survivors were picked off by orcs and beastmen before they could reach other civilization.

The Rune Lord nodded solemnly as he said quietly but heavily. "Aye, a grudgin this be without a doubt. But more importantly, Snorlot never found any disciples and heirs to his craft up till Kharn. Snorlot was but a couple of centuries from becoming a Runelord himself; his arts can't be lost to the overgrown dragons of the far east!"

The Slayer King spat to the side and said with heartache. "Bah, he will be rejoined with his kind, I promise aye. Now the question is... Are we gon kill that Narwangli who allowed our kin to be abused and break her contract?"

The room went silent for a long moment as the Runesmiths quietly discussed between one another.

Then the Rune Lord said with a frown. "Nay, we say that she must pay a weregild for the insult. Having the Dragon Emperor throw a meteor at Karak Kadrin isn't worth settling this grudge with thousands of our lives to break the City of Smoke."

That and all the dwarves were well aware that the city was also the world's meat grinder for orcs, goblins, and chaos warriors that didn't want to kill themselves via freezing to death in an attempt to invade Kislev.

"Aye a good Okstal would be delivered to the boy, will soothe the grudge, especially in high-quality metals... And there will be much evil and things to kill as we travel across the mountains haha!" Ungrim cheered with many of the slayers, cheering in realization at the glorious possible death that was before them.

A loud thudding series of anticipation came from the many muscular and shirtless Slayers who punched their chests and made a humming noise as Ungrim stood up from his throne of stone, covered in the metal-coated skulls of a few of the MANY monsters he had slain.

"We march for Kharn Baruk's hold of Karak Ungolia. Let us see if this son of Urzak the Brewmaster will welcome us with ale and maybe some new weapons haha!" Ungrim ordered as he being the Slayer King wasn't going to waste time when he already made up his mind.

And being a Slayer army, his army would be traveling light... And food, materials, or whatever the fuck he needed while on his way to secure another Runesmith for his kingdom? As well as save the last remnant of a lost clan to have their tales added to the book of grudges was worth any losses for the Slayer Kingdom.

Well.

There were alot of Orc kingdoms, traitor Dhar in the Chaos Dwarves, and so many other monsters that he could gloriously slaughter in the name of his Slayer Oath to keep his men well fed.
