Bloody Evolution Chapter 42

The conversation with Summer Rose and my master Lux came to a close with the decision that Summer would bring me from Beacon to the Rose Mansion and her estate at the end of the weekend.

As seeing as I was going to be there for a couple of weeks... At the very least. Summer was giving me a couple days to relax and spend time with my friends to destress after the battles we had been through.

Before, I was just thrown back into training and probably ruthlessly beaten into shape by Summer in particular.

"Alrighty Jake, you can run along now." Lux said with a bit of a flush as she had been drinking during our conversations along with Summe,r likewise having a deeper flush as she had been drinking even more.

Looking at the two, I could only helplessly shrug before I said. "Just don't get too wasted you two. I am leaving then."

And so I left the two women alone to their drinks with my face twitching as I didn't make it to the end of the room before Summer drunkenly giggled. "So Luxy, hows it going with such a cute little disciple heh?"

So I quickly beat a retreat before I heard Lux say some embarrassing or something else stupid. Which would also further ruin my image of my talented master of magic.

I made my way back to my floor within Lux's tower before I hummed thoughtfully as my phone buzzed. I looked down and I thoughtfully raised an eyebrow at the message.

[Hey Jake, if you are free wanna join me a couple of my sisters for some pasta and garlic bread that Morgan helped make?] The sender was Jean, the lovely big titty goth who helped me make my ghost ship which was most important tool in my arsenal against the Grimm.

To say the least, after working for days together, Jean and I were rather close. So I quickly typed back. [Sure, I already ate but I would be happy to hang out and eat all the garlic bread.]

And in but a minute as I left Lux's tower to head on over to Miss Goodwitch's own tower, where this little party was being held. I got another message back. [Jeanne said if you do that.

'She won't pray for the absolutions of your sins... And she will hit your hands with a ruler.' Yeah silver eyes or not. If you eat all the garlic bread, me Mordred, and will break your knees!]

To which... I just sent a text emoji of a face flipping a table to show my outrage.

Then I just sent another message that I was on my way.

I looked up from my phone with a sigh and said. "Well... I thank you for letting me finish my conversation with a friend. So may I help you?"

Standing before me was a nun of the Holy Light church... And more concerningly was like the Pope of Vale's church she also had a silken band around her eye's. Which meant that she had stared into the divinity of the god of light. Lost her eyeballs that litterally fried at the sight.

Yet still lived. Just like that troublesome Pope.

"I was wondering what type of person you were." She said calmly with only a polite tone.

Yet... Despite that genial politeness. I could feel my new cultivation senses screaming at me. That this woman was a threat to me.

So trusting in those feelings I said coldly. "Good, you got to see me up close. Now you can fuck right off."

There was a pause as the blindfolded woman who like the Pope had blond hair, but this one had more silver like blond hair and her robes were actually on the baggy side. Which didn't display her bodies shape.

Still I coudn't see any weapons on her otherwise weapon catalysts for magic. But she then said in a cool tone.

"Your file didn't say anything about you being so rude. Have I upset you somehow?"

And with a flicker of light my sword fell into my hands and I said with finality. "Step to the side witch. I will otherwise cut you down. Here and now. And damn my relationship with the church."

There was a pause as she just stared at me with those empty eye sockets. Yet I knew that she could 'see' beyond using the lack of her eyes.

Then she bowed her head and said with a hum. "Maybe you will survive longer then I thought. Well when you do die... Just make sure your eye's aren't destroyed as well."

My wrist flicked even as a pillar of light shot up from the ground to form a teleportation pillar for her to step through.

And the nun hissed as a long cut from my sword qi tore open her back and threw her through her portal as I scowled.

"Fucking bitch. She wants my silver eyes huh? Is that an idea the church has? Or is she an outlier?" I mused with a heavy frown as I realized that I truly needed to master my eyes if she. And possibly the church itself was obviously testing me.

I exhaled softly before I couldn't help a smirk as I could feel my sword qi, which was so much different from the Martial Artist Ki and Magic used in this world typically.

I could feel my icy sword qi burrowed in her flesh in a great distance away from me before the distance made me lose the mental connection. But even then, I knew that the qi would remain and continue harming her unless she was either a sage or had a sage help remove it.

As my qi was an entire dimension different in quality compared to the energy sources used in this world.

Like for example, how it took four sages damn near exhausting themselves and having to take turns just to fill out the Inheritance Seal that provided the seed to allow me to cultivate to begin with.

I took a moment to clear my heart of the violence I wanted to commit before I just rested my sheathed sword on my hip as I continued over to Goodwitch's tower.

After getting to Goodwitch's castle, one of her servant's happily brought me over to the small get-together that was happening, and I couldn't help a small chuckle at seeing most of the Arc sister's there.

"Jeanne, Jean, Morgan, and Okita. Hello, you all!" I said with a small wave at the four ladies before I paused and asked. "Oh, and wasn't Mordred supposed to be here?"

To which Okita gave a small smile and said. "She already headed out. Lady Flaurent told her to come to her for more training."

I nodded as that was fair enough. And as thought proved, Mordred didn't leave empty-handed handed I saw on the heated pans of food that was left for us to take for our own. A couple loaves of garlic bread were clearly missing and out of the general pile that had been taken!

Mordred the traitor had stolen several loaves of garlic bread before she left us!

Still after getting a light plate of food, I sat down next to Jean, who chuckled and said. "Oh Jake, Ferid is still sulking about our ghost ship we made. She wanted to force me to help her make one. But unless she binds the soul of a Grandmaster into it, it cannot be remotely controlled like you ca,n haha."

"Yeah, and such a grandmaster won't be easily... Well normally it woudn't be so easy, but with war here. It is certainly likely she will manage to get such a soul and some materials." I said in realization.

As I myself literally had a peak Grandmaster who was touching upon the rank of being a Sage stuck in my fucking expanded suitcase as a mana battery.

"She might... But she isn't much for direct combat. She prefers to have her soul shackled toys do her dirty work. Anyway, so you got any other plans in mind?"

I hummed thoughtfully as I considered whether I should make another giant ghost ship. Or even perhaps an entire fleet of them.

But I just shook my head as I said helplessly. "Sorry, but I need to focus on my personal training. I will be spending the next couple of weeks at the very least with the Rose family to learn how to control my Silver Eyes. Along with doing my own training to become stronger."

Morgan gave a hum of approval before she said. "It's good for you to focus on strengthening your core abilities Jake. Cinder has made Lady Luxanna very proud in becoming a Grandmaster as well, so it's good to see her other disciple also on the path of self-improvement."

I nodded before I said firmly. "I hope to see the rest of you also become a Grandmaster as well."

Though as I said that, I saw that Okita, Jean, and Jeanne smiled happily at me, seeing the potential in them... I saw Morgan frown.

And I realized she was probably feeling a bit pressured at falling behind Cinder in their similar studies of soul-burning flames.

But reaching the rank of Grandmaster, whether it be for martial arts or magic. It relied on self-cultivation of your understanding of your own path to make the form of your future Sage Tool.

"So Jake, have you used your silver eyes yet?" Jeanne asked excitedly as she leaned in a bit closer.

My lips twitched as I wanted to say that 'No, in fact they have been nothing but trouble so far.' But still I said with a wry smile. "Sadly I haven't figured out how to activate them on my own. Thankfully, I will be training with the Rose's to figure them out."

"I bet the Church could also help you... But the Rose family does know them having had them for several centuries." Jeanne admitted with a slight pout before she smiled and asked if I was now praying to the god of light.

"I could teach you some holy miracles as well! Well, maybe when you get back from the Roses." She admittedly while I inwardly denied that even though I gave a noncommittal hum.

As I knew all too well that binding myself to the God of Light would shackle my potential, even if the god's power would be very helpful for my low-level cultivation.

After a bit of conversation between me, Jean, and Jeanne, especially. Okita who had a much slimmer build compared to her more voluptuous sisters, cut in gently. "Jake, would you be willing to do some sword sparring now?"

I looked over to see Okita Arc having her sheathed katana on her lap yet her eye's were filled with an intensity that reminded me of my martial master Feixiao a little too much.

I looked over forlornly at the garlic bread... And then I chuckled and said. "Alright, let's go work off some food then."

With a sigh, Morgan said with some amusement. "Fine, although Lady Goodwitch's tower is focused on magic. She has had students who dabbled in martial arts, so she has an appropriate arena. But neither of you is to hurt one another!"

We both nodded quickly at Morgan's dominant attitude, with Morgan's fierce eyes glaring at us in warning should we be stupid and one of us get hurt.

But we were both mostly humoring her... After all, we would be dueling. Not trying to compete over who could hit each other's swords harder or better.

We quickly headed to the arena on another one of the floors and the spell casters/nun in Morgan, Jean, and Jeanne moved to the sides of the arena as Okita and I stood apart from one another on the rough stone platform.

"So, lets see how this goes. We have aura after all." Okita said with her drawing her sword with a rasp as she continued. "I want to show that I am not so helpless... That you won't need to almost kill yourself to save me again."

My lips twitched at the reminder of how I almost killed myself with exhaustion after saving her and Mordred... And then their mother so thoroughly thanked me for saving said daughters.

To say nothing of how I helped deal with that church fuck who was trying to force himself on her as well.

Either way, I shrugged and said calmly. "You aren't some kind of damsel in distress Okita. You have strength within you."

Then I held up my sword and with a cooler tone, I said with finality. "But that strength is not equal to my own."

And with a step forward, I met her own special martial art in spatial-based martial arts that allowed her to skip through spatial 'magic' in martial arts.

Our swords met with a loud clang... And then Okita was shot backwards as she was not physically strong at all. She wasn't even as strong as a Journeyman martial artist typically was.

She relied on her space-shrinking technique to deal lethal and powerful blows at the swiftest possible speed and that lack of force showed all to much when I spoke quietly.

"Ten thousand blades of ice." And I gently stabbed my sword outwards to summon the weakest form of the domain of the Drifting Snow of Eight Thousand Miles.

Okita shot backwards with her long katana slicing through the air at a blur of speed to a normal person's eyes as she cut down several dozen and then hundreds of razor sharp snowflakes that filled the air.

At the peak of Nether Limitless's power, who wasn't at all even near the peak of the Martial World's peak of cultivation. A single snowflake of the planet-wide domain he could summon could kill a sage should it make contact with them.

And this domain's power despite being stupidly draining on my qi. Was more then enough as in but a couple of moments Okita's aura flashed and I cut off the domain as her clothes had several rips in it from where she pulled back her aura to defend herself for longer.

"That... Are you a Grandmaster Jake?" Okita panted as she gave me a helpless look of dismay.

To which I shook my head and said calmly. "No, I can only use that technique for not even thirty seconds at most. And a real Grandmaster would be able to just fly away from the domain if they couldn't just overpower it."

Although the snowflakes from the domain were deadly... Well they were fragile.

Still I then nodded and said. "Well you should probably go change then." I said with a wry smile as I could see a bit of Okita's blue bra peeking out where her shirt got a bit shredded.

Comments

Thanks for the chapter looking forward to more.

Hmm is it time

During the duel you wrote martial art three times in the same sentence
