Kitsune in Teyvat Chapter 27
Added 2025-09-23 15:45:11 +0000 UTCStill after proving my abilities in controlling time to an extent. The glorious mother of the Prinzessin Der Verurteilung only had to be talked into it for a couple of minutes. Hell it wasn't even me talking her into it even.
She was missing a knee and had a weird magical prothestic that caused her to have pain all the time when the humidity got to high.
"I don't know what to say... You gave me back my knee, but you look like it was just a simple thing to do?" Fischl's mother spoke as she held onto her very much flesh and bone knee again with both of her hands.
I shrugged and with some amuesment I said. "It wasn't actually that difficult. It's not like I was turning back the clock decades if not centuries ago. Anyway the cold cuts and soup is delightful."
And that wasn't a lie... On my little 'adventure' I hadn't exactly gotten the chance to have a home cooked meal in a long while. And this soup especially was clearly made with love and care.
From a recipe that went back and was refined over generations. Something you don't find at any random food stand or resturant. Especially, you cannot find such a soul filled meal while on trying to catch some sleep on the side of the road.
Still with the food sacrificed to my stomach, and I myself having done my due duty as a guest in healing the host in repayment for the food. I looked to Fischl and said. "Are you ready to go Fischl?"
The Prinzessin nodded before her face flushed as her mom said gently. "Be careful on your quest Amy... Sorry, Fischl please be careful on your grand quest ufufu."
"Mooom!" Fischl moaned in mortification at her mother using her true birth name but Oz, Fischl's familiar cleared his throat to get Fischl back on track.
"Come Lady of Uttermost Darkness, the journey to slay a thousand demons awaits no one."
Fischl knew it was also closing in the time we were supposed to be meeting with Bennett from the adventurer's guild.
So we left Fischl's home with us then heading towards the gate of Mondstadt while I also very carefully hid my appearance under a kitsune illusion.
"Yo Fischl!" Bennett cried out waving at the blond next to me with Fischl waving back in turn and saying a chuuni greeting in turn.
"Ho there oh accursed soul! Be wary of the ever night's approach as we have a quest most dire before us!"
Bennett himself having long gotten used to Fischl gave a grin in reply while I looked at the young man with silver hair and a somewhat wiry frame and clearly being in his later teen years.
'Yup... I can smell the curse of death on him?' I thought with some confusion as I looked upon Bennett.
Still, the crunching of gravel on heels rang out and I looked aside to see the scowling form of Eula Lawrence making her way over here as well.
With Eula in her typical outfit and her shorter bluish hair done being blown around a bit as she left the cities walled-in protection.
"Hmm? And who are you? I do not recongize you?" Eula seemed to demand of me as she... Notably stood away from Bennett.
Which made sense... As Bennett was well known for having flocks of birds attack him randomly with not only claws and beaks but 'drop bombs' as well being used on him.
"My name is Kuma, I am an adventurer from Inazuma. It's an honor to meet the Spindrift Knight Eula of the stories Lawrence Clan." I spoke in a more formal tone with Eula's confrontational vibe instantly deflating.
"Hem, yes well... You better not hold us back or anything!" Eula said with a slight flush before she looked between Bennett and Fischl before she asked if we were all ready to go.
Though while Fischl gave me a brief glance for obviously giving a fake name. She also already knew that I was in hiding from the Fatui... And Eula was a well known alcholic who would get completely wasted in at Diluc's bar.
So it wasn't a suprise after a moment of thought for Fischl that I didn't give out my true name.
"So! How many Ruin Guard's and constructs are we looking at?" Bennett asked with a grin as he threw his hands behind his head as we walked on the bridge from the city of Mondstadt to the mainland.
Eula being the scout of the Knight's of the Favonius then spoke out. "At least a few dozen have been noted around the river seperating the Dragonspine River from Mondstadt. Hence why the Knight's put up a commission with the adventurer's guild for those with a vision to help."
Which totally made sense as the knight's were obviously busy with more roaming issues closer to home. While the Ruin Guard's and such at least for now even as they were just coming online and active coudn't cross the powerful Dragonspine River.
"Oh jeez, a bunch of ruin constructs. This is gonna be a tough fight!" Bennett said a bit sheepishly with him giving me a look of interest before he added.
"So uhh Kuma right? So where do you fit in, in like a fight? Me and Eula are close range as we like to use swords. And Fischl is great with her bow and Oz in doing longer ranges as well." He added hurriedly at seeing Fischl give him a look at not being included at first.
I shrugged at that and I said thoughtfully. "Hmm, I am more of a spell caster all things told. So more of mid range though I can take care of myself in close range if something happens."
Being the adopted son of Ei, the Raiden Shogun meant that whether it be by sword or spear. I HAD to be passable at the very least with such weapons. And... My almost too pampering of a 'big sister' in Kujou Sara also made sure I was passable with a bow as well.
"So I can handle myself without you three needing to pay attention to me." I said easily with Fischl backing me further.
