Cursed Edgerunner Chapter 11
Added 2025-09-12 15:39:57 +0000 UTCYou know... Even though the huntresses of this world were completely fucking hopeless. Teasing one that I just fucked into a happy puddle that a ring [more fucking without any issues] could be in their future.
Was probably a very self-harming move. After all.
Feixiao was the type of woman to either turn a ring around her finger into a collar that went around 'one' of our necks with how strong-willed she was.
Yeah, in hindsight of my ass leaving Remnant and re-entering this literally cursed version of Cyberpunk. I played with fire a bit too much in teasing the thirsty huntresses of the world.
'Didn't mean I wasn't going to go back to Remnant and slam fuck another crazy huntress though.' I mused with a wry smile that turned in a true grin as I saw that the money I had collected previously was indeed enough for that Sandy.
"Fuck yeah! Sandy coming in boys!" I laughed, ok more like cackled with joy as on of the best implants was on the way for me!
"Hmm, the bank account is fucking dry though now... Well, once I got the sandy installed, I can do some more bounty work I suppose?" I muttered before I shrugged and settled into the large cyberwarfare seat to connect to the Net.
From there, I routed myself to search through NCPD's recent bounty list before pausing, as there was actually a public bounty active currently that had potential.
'Rat Plague Curse running rampant with clones of the rat-like curse running around Night Cities, Watson District?' I mused to myself as the curse's clones were supposedly weak as fuck, but still in large numbers, and being an annoyance for the people who could deal with the many curses that filled Night City.
I hummed in thought before shrugging as the mission was easy to accomplish. I just had to record the deaths of the rat curse clones in particular. And for each dead one, I would be paid a hundred eddies.
And hey, although a hundred eddies for a single dead curse was crap to say the least. It could give my wallet some breathing room, especially if I killed a couple of dozen or something.
"Hmm, I wonder what happened to that girl with those rat-like cybernetics with the tail knife... Jane Doe had to be a fake name and such, but she isn't in the NCPD's files I can find though." I muttered to myself before mentally shrugging.
And thus I went back to the bounty board to look for more scum of the earth to kill to make a quick buck. And it didn't take me long to find a... Sizable bounty.
"Yeah... This will work, it's a multi-hit job, but it pays well, and isn't dangerous, most likely." I mused as I found a hit that was put on a child trafficking ring that had several civilians adding to the pot's value.
Though the bounty was going to take some work, as the NCPD wanted the three ringleaders dead who were also in hiding in one of the Hab Towers over in the Watson District. With the major issue being the perps having connections to the Hab Tower's leadership who were hiding their tracks.
'Tracking three assholes through like literally eight thousand apartments, along with dealing the gang's and other people living in the megabuilding, makes it so the cops, even if they wanted to. Can't find these guys.' I thought as I pulled myself out of the Net.
And with an exhale. I inspected my new Mantis blades and monowire to ensure they were in good condition as I waited for the Sandy to arrive by delivery guy I ordered from the underground auction house.
"I still need to get a bigger projectile weapon than my auto pistol and the Projectile Launch System I have in my left arm," I muttered thoughtfully.
As both weapons had some issues for long-term engagements to say the least. Though with a Sandy coming, I didn't need a big machine gun or whatever. I needed power more than anything in a gun.
The property's proximity alarm went off and without any fanfare, I went to pick up the package that came in a nondescript cardboard box. But within the box was a padded metal suitcase that contained the very Sandevistan I had ordered.
"Adam Smasher calls the Sandy a so-called rudimentary implant... Yeah, that's a load of bogus with how even he has one built into his cyborg body." I muttered before I threw myself into the Auto-Doc to have it slotted into my body.
-
Waking up... Like three days later, I got out of the Autodoc with a slight groan of comfort, while I was held in that shitty testing site. My spinal cord had already been replaced with the spinal docking port that could host a Sandy or a Kerenzikov.
So, just like when I got those Mantis Blades and Monowire installed, it felt like a hole in my body had finally been filled in again.
I then spent the next hours tuning up the Sandy and making sure it was set to my parameters. Along with stress testing my body to see how much strain using it put on my body.
"Hmm, with my perfect acceptance of the Sandy and other cybernetics, I have much less strain on my body than other people do... And most importantly, with my grasp of Cursed Energy and Aura, my body can take a lot more strain than civilians can as well!"
Aura especially was doing fantastic work in keeping the strain of using the sandy down. Though if I was doing extreme combat and exercises with the sandy active, then instead of my body taking damage, I quickly realized my aura was draining instead to protect my body.
"Alright, I got a Sandy, and the power of 'These Hands'. Now to go fill back up my bank account!" I said with some motivation as I left my home on my bike and entered Night City proper.
