Terrarian Chapter 116
Added 2025-09-11 09:23:38 +0000 UTC"Imma get that ass in Ixtal." I muttered with a frown as it didn't take me long to find where Kha'zhix truly did finish off and consume Rakan from the blood pool that was left behind... Sadly beyond some cloth scraps and just peices of his leather belt. There wasn't anything left of him to even bury.
And it wasn't even my fault that Kha'zhix escaped. He was the Void's best hunter and assassin as far as I knew. And the ability to teleport for a void creature was rather expected frankly.
"I need to make something to block enemies from teleporting around me as well." I muttered with a sigh before I took a deep breath and made my way back.
It took me a good bit, but all too soon I reached the anchored ship and as I came aboard from the shadow of a corner. Akali stepped forward with her eye's raking my form even with the rest of her face covered in her face mask.
"You are still alive. Yet it is also clear you found combat of some kind. Did you come across the beast?" She asked bluntly.
I nodded and then looked away while leaking my mana to keep the assassin within my senses before I said quietly. "Yes... I fought it, I took one of it's bladed arms, I broke it's body. But it teleported away from me before I could finish it."
Akali was silent for a moment. Before she said calmly. "That is to be expected. Kha'zhix has haunted this world for many years... It is a powerful assassin and hunter true, but it's greatest talent is escaping from the few who can actually kill the abomination."
That was a good point honestly. I was just one guy who threw down with a champion tier monster. And it has been an issue for the people of this world for dozens of years if not longer.
I sure as hell beat the thing, but it was good at escaping... Next time, with even better weapons and magic. I would nuke the bastard before it could teleport away!
"Anyway, where is Ahri and Xayah?" I asked turning to Akali who silently took a step closer to my side. Though on the other hand, the other assassins on the boat seemingly merged with the shadows leaving my senses somehow.
"They are below the deck. Ahri is tending to Xayah's wounds to the heart as she... Xayah woke up briefly due to the shock of your potions healing her and she is not in a good state as she can feel the loss of her lover." Akali explained with a light sigh escaping her.
I could only nod in regret before I brushed a hand across my face and said. "I- Yeah we should weigh anchor and get moving. I made alot of noise in the fight as you know." I said rather pointedly as I could feel one of the shadow warriors of the Kinkou Assassin Clan having followed me.
"Very well... Hopefully there will be no more diversions in anycase. Excuse me then Jake." Akali said with finality as she turned around and went into the ship with utterly silent steps even to my magical senses.
Which was fucking creepy honestly. I coudn't feel a single vibration of her foot falls on the rather conductive wooden floor of the ship. Still, it was a delight to watch the assassin go.
'Why coudn't I have landed in like the KDA, or even the Star Guardian alternate universes... Normal Runeterra is a fucking deathworld.' I mused with a wry smile at the thought of the two other timelines.
Either way, knowing that Ahri and Xayah needed some time, I just sat on the pleasure cruises deck with my wine jug and a Darklight Greatsword that rested on my armored shoulder.
"Hmm, this would be a good time to do some fishing actually." I spoke in sudden realization as it was perfect honestly! Back in Orario there wasn't really any good places to do Terraria style fishing so I had been missing some stuff you could get from there as well!
And thus it began. I could feel the assassins collectively losing their shit as I brought up crates made out of clearly solid fucking gold out of the water. Along with everything else from clearly magical fish, to potions, paintings, and even a single Dynamite Fish.
Finally after fishing for a good bit and getting the accessories I wanted that I would need to use in making a Cellphone. Which reminded me of that cringe anime 'Reincarnating with a cellphone.' Ahri came back onto the deck.
Without a word she strode over and took my wine jug from my lap before taking a long draw from it that made me raise an eyebrow before she lowered it with a sigh. "Love is the most painful stories of life. Xayah is going to be a mess for... A long while with how she and Rakan were two pieces of one another."
"She... We are heading to pass through Ixtal, Kha'zhix always retreats back to that jungle death trap. And regardless of anything, I don't see Xayah just going into a moping stupor where she rots away."
Ahri was silent for a long moment before she said quietly. "You are right Jake... Xayah isn't a woman who will waste away. No she is going to boil over, burning everything around her until she self explodes as she tries to kill Kha'zhix."
Left unsaid was how Xayah would likely still fade away as well after Kha'zhix died. And was there much I could do in this situation?
Not really, but coming from Orario, where death in the dungeon was just one fuck up away. I had seen many a grieving party going through a beloved loss. So I said quietly. "I will go talk to her. I won't be able to get through to her. But once I help her mount Kha'zhix's head on a wall, maybe she can make something of herself."
With that, I went to hand Ahri the wine jug and then her face twitched as I gave a helpless smile and said. "Actually, Xayah could use the wine, and chocolates I got. You be good now."
Ahri huffed from behind me as she said with some amuesment. "Stingy little human."
And I just called back almost casually. "Greedy little fox."
