Hunter/Genshin Chapter 127
Added 2025-09-11 07:23:57 +0000 UTCWe flew in fairly quickly, as Diluc knew the countryside of Mondstadt very well. Once we got there... I looked upon the camp of the Fatui and frowned slightly as it wasn't just soldiers and their ilk stealing everything that wasn't nailed down.
There were clearly historians and civilians here as well. "Diluc... You didn't say this was a major expedition. We can't deal with all these people, even if we were willing to slaughter all the civilians."
Sure, I hated the Fatui at this point as Childe brought a whole army of the abyss and unleashed a mad god on Liyue. To say nothing of Dottore threatening to kill everyone horribly in Mondstadt as well.
To say nothing of how the Fatui were fueling the civil war that was tearing Inazuma apart.
Still, I wasn't going to be slaughtering a bunch of civies. End of story.
"Rosaria's information... Didn't include this either." Diluc said with a frown before he looked to me with a frown, and then he shook his head. "We need to bring this to Jean and Liyue's Qixing as you are right that we can't just slaughter their researchers and such."
As much as I once again hated the fatui... I wasn't going to kill Joe Shmoe the cook who just made their fucking sandwiches after all.
"Let's get going... If Morax wants to smite this area, thats up to him and Jean I guess." I muttered before I paused as we rose up in the air.
As in the distance was a man in some kind of armor all colored black with some other highlights but his face in his helmet was seemingly covered by some kind of veil or something.
The figure looked at us and I could feel a power from the figure... Power no lesser than when Ei got serious at some level.
"A Harbinger... Who is that one?" I spoke mostly to myself.
But Diluc grunted and with a cold tone, he said quietly. "That's Capitano... We can't beat him, only a god can."
Diluc wouldn't say anything else the rest of the way to Mondstadt until we arrived back at the Dawn Winery and he said in a dull tone while heading back his mansion. "Go ahead, tell Jean. I need some time for myself."
And with a loud slam, he closed the door as he passed by it. Leaving me standing there for a moment before I cursed under my breath. "Damned waste of time... We can't do anything basically."
As with Ei sitting in my pocket dimension keeping an eye on me to keep her sister safe within my soul. I couldn't use Ei to kill my enemies lest the rest of the world know that Inazuma was undefended besides Yae Miko being in charge.
For all that I 'loved' Yae Miko, she was NOT a powerful fighter even if she still was powerful inherently. Her talents lied in the spiritual arts that kept Inazuma's highly spiritual nature under control.
"Fuck it... I came here to Mondstaft to get wine wasted. Not deal with the Fatui!" I muttered as I began to quickly fly back to Mondstadt city so I could dump this problem on Jean.
Once I got back to Mondstadt, it didn't take long for me to get into the Knight's of Favonius's building and meet with Jean who had her usual pile of paperwork on her work table.
"Jake, Lumine already spoke with me earlier and she has your payment. Thank you for helping that convoy move the supplies this morning." Jean said with an easy smile.
My lips twitched as I realized that Lumine once again sold my ass out because she was broke!
Still I shook my head and said with a serious expression. "Jean we need to talk now. We have an issue in the Dragonspine Mountain."
Jean tilted her head to the side with the blond beauty giving me a confused look before she sighed and said in realization. "Diluc... He dragged you into trouble, didn't he?"
I nodded and then explained how there was a 'Large' contingent of Fatui who were poking around in the Dragonspine Mountain. And besides just the civilians there... Capitano the Harbinger was also there.
Jean was in clear thought for a long moment before she sighed. "I am sure having to just leave. Made Diluc rather upset... Still, this is indeed a major issue as Durin's still curse-ridden corpse remains within that ice to say nothing of other secrets that should be left buried."
There was a pause before Jean said with finality. "Yes... Letting the Fatui get at forbidden knowledge and technology is just asking for further trouble. And seeing as I cannot get ahold of Barbatos reliably. I will be sending a message through the Adepti to Morax who has been-
The leader of Mondstadt's military chewed on the words she wanted to say so I said with a helpless smile to help her.
"Morax has returned to being the War God of Liyue after his beloved was resurrected and used as a tool by the Fatui. He will happily either topple the Dragonspine Mountain or make an entire new mountain when he gets into a fight with Capitano."
I didn't know shit about Capitano to be honest. But from what I did know of Genshin's Lore, Zhongli was still the strongest god so goodluck to the poor bastard.
"Anyway... I will let you get to that business. I am going to go enjoy the Wind Blume Festival. Goodluck Jean."
"Yeah, hopefully I myself can get some time to join in the festivities. Still enjoy the bounty of Mondstadt Jake. You are, of course are all but a beloved citizen of Mondstadt already." Jean said with a small smile.
Though, as I chuckled and nodded. While making my way to the door, I had an idle thought. 'It's a good thing I am not a true citizen then... Imagine being a true citizen for all seven nations and Teyvat and needing to pay taxes in all those nations!'
