Genshin/Hunter Chapter 126
Added 2025-09-09 09:02:34 +0000 UTCAfter checking in with the rest of my people in the Serenitea Pot, I decided to head off towards the Dawn Winery to see what Diluc wanted to speak with me.
The Dawn Winery itself was a huge vineyard that spanned several miles, which made sense due to how it was so famous for shipping its wine across the world.
And once I got directed by the maids who took care of the inner estate, I saw in the large hall next to the entryway, Diluc himself was sitting at a long table at the end.
"Jake, please come in." Diluc said with a wave to the seat next to his own seat.
I nodded and made my way over to Diluc, with him leaning back in his throne-like chair. "I got your letter from Lumine... I thought there was to be a small celebration or something?" I asked with a small smile.
Diluc's slowly nodded before he folded his hands together on the table before he said quietly. "I needed you here along with an alibi. My maids know not to speak of my affairs as well."
I raised an eyebrow before waving my hand for him to continue. "Yeah, go ahead?"
"You and I both have our issues with the Fatui, and with Jeans crackdown in Mondstadt they have gone further underground. And I have found a temple they have taken over near the Dragonspine Mountain with them looking into the remains of the civilzation that once lied there."
I frowned at that... As the heretical civilization of the Dragonspine Mountain had been nuked out of existence via a Sky Nail from Celestia for a reason.
And although I had reincarnated with only information up to like Sumeru before I died. I knew that the Fatui and Sneznahya's goal was to fuck with Celestia for some nebulous goal.
The only reason that they could actually look around and do digs around the Dragon Spine mountain is because Lumine and Eula dealt with the Sky Nail/magical nuke that had been left where it slammed into the mountain.
"Lumine and Eula got rid of the eternal ice storm there... Yeah I am interested obviously, though with how the area isn't a dead zone. Has Liyue and Mondstadt talked about setting up land claims for the area?" I asked curiously.
Diluc snorted but then said evenly. "No they haven't. But to be fair, Varka hasn't been in Mondstadt for more than a year. And despite Lady Ningguang being in charge of Liyue Harbor, she is not the leader of Liyue itself."
Left unsaid was how Venti despite being the god of this land woudn't meet with Morax/Zhongli who was the real leader of Liyue especially with how he didn't fake his death in this timeline at least.
"So, you want me to come help you slaughter the Fatui then?" I asked bluntly to set the table clean.
And with only a blink at my bluntness. Diluc nodded and said plainly. "That is my intention indeed Jake. It's not like we can just ask elite soldiers to leave a no-man's land between two nations that are filled with heretical secrets best left buried under centuries of ice and corpses."
That... Was a fair point honestly. From playing the storyline of Sumeru I knew all to well the curse and 'power' that was forbidden and heretical knowledge that could literally poison someone's mind and soul.
So after a moment of thought back to all the times the Fatui fucked with me and Lumine, I nodded and said. "Alright, but... What about the Wind Blume Festival? We have alot of foriegners coming for it, and if we make a mess... What if the Fatui like bombs the festival for revenge?"
To which Diluc frowned but after a moment of thought he grunted out. "I get what you mean... But we still need to do it, as soon as possible in fact. And I need your help to fly us there quietly and allow us to make our way back within the next few hours."
"Fine I get it." I grumbled before shrugging and brushing a hand through my hair as I hoped to... Actually, no I didn't want to pray any god as they were all unreliable as hell.
But still I really hoped a fucking Fatui Harbinger wasn't there. As even with all my training and power at this point. Those Harbinger's were literally at the levels of the gods in some way which allowed them to earn their ranks.
"Then let's get going then. We need to fly quickly to deal with them as I don't want Lumine and everyone else to worry about me either."
A part of me wondered if I should get Ei from out of the teapot pocket demension to help us in this purge... But after imagining Ei like cutting the Dragonspine Mountain in half. I changed my mind a good bit actually!
Diluc got up from his chair and said quietly as we moved outside of the Dawn Winery and his families mansion. "Rosaria is the one who told me about this group of Fatui, so it won't be just us two as well."
"Ah here. I haven't spoken with her... But that's too unusual as she isn't that social." I said with a wry smile as I summoned a mount to carry us off.
