Terrarian Chapter 114

"So will you be acting in concert then, we cause a mess in the city of Basalich?" I spoke thoughtfully as I knew that if the assassins of the Kinkou clan wanted to only use the chaos I would bring to do things on their own terms.

They would have just followed us and kept out of sight.

Akali merely nodded, with Ahri saying with some amusement.

"With the chaos you created in breaking the Noxian invading army, it's likely that Draven and Darius will be swiftly be heading back to the continent. As once news magically passes from here to Demacia, it's likely that Demacia will attack Noxus's frontier lands at the news that Darius and Sion especially are here in Ionia."

My mind was filled with the memory of the huge Frankenstein monster Scion which made me frown as I knew that physically at least. The undead monster was stronger then me.

Though I was far faster than he was anyway.

"If possible. Yes, we wish to use you and Ahri to cause as much chaos while cutting down the foundation of the port city that allows Noxus to supply the occupation of parts of Ionia." Akali said rather bluntly.

I shared a look with Ahri before I said calmly. "If you also want to take a bite out of Noxus, be my guest. Don't think of myself as a disposable pawn, though, or you will bleed for that."

Akali nodded, and with her face mask, I couldn't see much if any her expression actually.

Then Ahri spoke. "Akali... Are you even a sailor?"

And the air became awkward as Akali's eye's actually tightened before she said with bemusement. "I do know how to drive a barge through the rivers of Ionia... However, I will need to collect a crew of operatives at the port city before we cross the sea to reach the continent."

With that, I shrugged and said calmly. "So long as we aren't going to sink, I will take it. Ahri, you have fun with your friend."

And with that, I strolled over to the end of the pleasure boat before throwing down a large love seat and taking out a large jug of sweet mead to sip as I watched the beautiful Ionian land pass by slowly.

Akali being an assassin, wasn't someone I should tangle with lightly, especially when we were 'working' together. Maybe if we met in a different situation it could be somewhat less tense.

But she and the Kinkou clan wanted to use my revenge against the Noxian champions to do their own little war crimes. So I had to be sure that I wasn't going to be made a patsy or something.

-

"So, you got a new travel companion then." Akali noted calmly as she looked between Jake and Ahri, who gave the green-clad assassin a dull look.

"Obviously... But that's not what you mean, Akali." Ahri said flatly.

There was a pause before Akali said quietly. "He was able to defeat the Dark Sovereign, and break an entire army with monsters seemingly summoned from Ixtal. He is dangerous to Ionia."

And Ahri merely stated calmly. "Then it's a good thing he is leaving Ionia Akali. Now you woudn't come out into the open especially in having the crew replaced for now reason. What do you actually want?"

Akali looked away from Ahri before shrugging and saying. "I was given a mission from Master Shen to cause as many issues to Noxus away from Ionia to make them divert resources from Ionia."

"I merely want to know who... And 'what' I am working with towards those goals. As Jake is no mere wizard to be able to defeat the Dark Sovereign."

Ahri sniffed and said with disdain. "The Dark Sovereign may have an incredible amount of raw power. But she is but she has the wisdom and termper of a mere toddler."

Both ladies paused as a flare of magic rang out to their senses before the assassins hiding on the ship tensed as someone leapt from the forest line on the river onto the ship before collapsing to the deck of the ship.

"Xayah, you alright? Where is Rakan?" The two heard Jake as he quickly got up and kneeled next to the bird Vastayan, woman who had a large gash across her stomach and shoulders.

-

I splashed the woman with a healing potion to help seal the wounds first but I coudn't sense Rakan's magical signature anywhere near us. And the woman's pulse was weak even as she grabbed my hand and managed to whipser.

"Kha'zix... Kha'zix is here." And then the blood loss got to her and she fainted while I realized that the 'worst' assassin in the world was here now.

'Ah shit, the murder hobo super bug is here in Ionia as well. Shoudn't the little bastard be doing his nonsense in like Ixtal or something?' I mused before I carefully fed her a proper potion.

"Ahri, we need to look for Rakan at least. Xayha and him were good to me and helped me deal with the Noxians. The least I can do is look for him."

Akali however said quietly. "I know of Kha'zix, it is a champion of the void. A monster of infinite mutations and evolution that is considered the perfect hunter. Going into forest would make us it's prey. Plus, Rakan is certainly dead if Xayha managed to get here wounded even still."

I sighed and said without inflection. "Even then, I will at least look for a body or some remains. Ahri you coming with or you going to watch the boat?"

To which Ahri looked me dead in the eye and said flatly. "Jake, walking into the hunting grounds of an apex predator is stupid. I will be staying right here. And if anything, I will be rather annoyed if you continue this height of stupidity."

Whelp, can't keep everyone happy. Still Rakan was a good dude, and I knew he could be a total bro just like Welt was back in Danmachi. So I was willing to take the risk because my Terraria armor should protect me from the initial sneak attack for sure.

Plus... A champion I would feel no shame in brutally murdering? That was exactly what I needed to level up again with my falna!
