Night City Legend Chapter 13

My massive amount of preparations equalled great rewards in turn. The Space Elevator was complete, and likewise with the massive amount of preparations I made. The space station was likewise completed outside of the atmosphere and held in place above the world by the rotation of the planet.

Along with the magnetic locks at the top of the Space Elevator as well which kept it in place. The space station itself was very heavily armed with laser and plasma weapons, while also having three layers of energy shields to protect it from 'rogue' satellites and other BS.

I wasn't going to mess around with my future plans, I was setting things up for even a Batarian Invasion to be repelled by the force build-up I was getting ready for.

Likewise, within the space station, several industrial sections were built into the space station, allowing White and the rest of YoRHa to begin work on the mega projects in the MAC orbital defense platforms.

Along with creating more YoRHa androids to fill out the wonderful shell company that was YoRHa Solutions.

My lips curled up in amusement at how Rebecca was the first to message me, knowing all too well that the rest of Maine's crew was nominally more on the subtle side. Though I had no doubt that Kiwi would be making bank selling what little she did know about me.

Regardless, however. I sighed as I knew that any hopes of flying under the radar of the world, the mega corporations, and the other issues was long gone. Sure, they may not know WHO I am for now.

"But it's not a matter of when my anonymity is gone, but what value I can get out of being open." I mused before my expression hardened as a loud bleep rang out and Commander White using the base's systems, sent me a priority alert.

[Arasaka has sent an envoy in a heavily armored limousine and has requested to speak with you.]

I considered my options for a long moment, what I could gain from Arasaka's aid, likewise what I could lose from interacting with them in general, as I had zero doubt that they wanted to use my Space Elevator.

But in reality, I knew that having some contact with the world at this point was still needed. Although I did have some supplies, I most definitely was going to need food to say nothing of large amounts of industrial materials.

So with an inhale, I mentally connected to the systems and I messaged her back. [Send them in, and ready the base's defense systems. I will be in the front meeting room.]

Sadly, I couldn't just turn on empowered EMP waves to cut off the recording abilities of the corpo's coming over here. As I had zero doubt that they would be heavily modified so having such a field up, could literally be an attack on them.

So I moved into the meeting room and from there I just raised an eyebrow as I connected to the systems servelliance systems only for me to see the figures of Hanako Arasaka I recognized from her gold enlaid cyberware that was implanted across her body.

And then her two guards were a bit familiar but I didn't recognize them by sight from the camera's view. But I watched as four YoRHa E models that were heavily armed and modified with the best cyberware I could print approached and then guide them to my meeting room.

I then waited patiently in the meeting room, although I was going to play a mild mind game in making them come to me instead of myself going to meet them directly.

I wasn't going to like, make them wait outside of the meeting room to make them sweat or anything.

The door to the meeting room was opened and I watched with raised eyebrows as although the YoRHa models took the guards guns. They allowed the two men to keep their Arasaka swords which was on their sides.

"Lady Hanako." I spoke with some respect... But I didn't get up to otherwise greet or bow to the princess of the Arasaka corporation.

Hanako's more natural face turned up into a neutral business smile and she spoke. "May I as to inquire your own name? You have made a great many people oh so curious as to who you are."

I nodded as that was to be expected and I said simply. "Just a simple scientist and engineer of Night City. My name is Jake Bariss, and I am sure you have much more to speak of... Then just getting my identity."

Hanako's eye's glowed as her beyond high-quality eye implants obviously were recording this meeting and sending the data elsewhere in a stream. Probably straight to Arasaka, where a board meeting was taking place at this very moment, most likely.

"I see, then down to business. I am representing the Arasaka corporation at this moment and have come to inquire as to the availability of your Space Elevator."

I shrugged and leaned back in my chair though a tension filled the room as one of the two guards tensed a bit at my... Rude or flippant change of posture. And from the corners of the room, turrets made creaking noises as they aimed at the three while the four Executionor models laser focused on them.

Meanwhile, I raised an eyebrow at all this and I met Hanako's impassive eye's of which it was definitely impossible to get a read on her due to all her implants and impeccable poker face, to say the least.

"Depends on what you want sent up the Space Elevator honestly." I spoke with a shrug with Hanako and the guard's perking up at my clear 'willingness' to have this conversation.

"I am sure you wish to use my Space Elevator to cut costs on your moon base by more than eighty percent. But... Beyond costs. There is one massive issue you guys have that I can fix, I already have fixed actually."

I leaned in with a cold smile, and I spoke. "I can allow people to live in space, or on the moon with zero issues or massive bodily adaptations to get past the zero gravity or in the moons case less than a fifth of the gravity of earth."

Not only did I have Eeezo/Mass Effect technology, I knew several way's from the Halo Universe for example, to create artificial gravity to deal with the biggest issue.

I activated the table's central holographic projector and it showed the Space Station and with a cold smile I spoke clearly.

"How did I put up a whole huge space station and space elevator in but an hour? Through the common technology of your people? No, I found out how to create artificial gravity fields and to turn off gravity, which... With an army of drones, I was then able to build my space elevator."

A complete fucking lie in the last part. But they didn't need to know that, obviously.

Regardless however... I could see that Hanako was completely dumbfounded as she realized I was wanting business far, far larger then merely acting as space Amazon.

As I leaned in and asked calmly. "So... Arasaka, how about we build a true city on the moon and begin terraforming said moon?"

Sure, I couldn't do everything right now even with YoRHA and the technology behind myself.

But... If I could use Arasaka to do the heavy lifting?

The sky wasn't even the limit as I had several way's of punching out of this dimension using things like slipstream drives.
