Night City Legend Chapter 11

Lithium, an extremly important, and still very valuable minerla that was used in damn near every implant and electronic device. I needed a very fucking large amount of the damned mineral, like closer to a million eddies worth. And even if I could buy it with money.

A million dollars/eddies worth of any material is rather notable. So that led to the reality that I needed to knock over a supply train carrying the materials into Night City. Which my wonderful Android's easily pinpointed the timing of.

But there was obviously issues in this. First of all, the convoy was thirty million eddies worth of materials. And the train was very much armored and running on magnetized rails so it's not like I could derail it.

No, I need to blast it off it's rails. Deal with the twenty-odd guards of said goods. And then very quickly load up the goods and escape while hiding away from any force searching for whoever jacked them.

"So which Corp are we hitting for this lithium?" I asked bluntly.

"Vault Tech, so long as we hit them hard with them falling into a blackout zone we can create. They won't be able to call for help, due to how Vault Tech has all their tech hard line unless completely needed."

'Vault Tech huh." I mused to myself, and honestly, the thought of robbing Vault tech was a great one. As they were fucking pyscho's to say the least, and I woudn't feel bad for ripping them off.

"Any idea of the defenses the convoy is going to have?" I asked curiously.

White took a deep breath before she spoke while giving the other Operator unit's a glance.

"The trains will have armored anti-tank plasma caster turrets atop it, along with laser machine guns on the sides of the train. And within the train itself will likely be at least a dozen guards who may or may not have power armor due to the rising tension between the corporations lately."

I grunted in agreement, and after a moment of thought, I spoke slowly. "The cart itself is running off of magnetized rails. So my best bet would be to surround the cart itself in the Faraday cage and just... Steal the entire cart as I make it weightless via a Mass Effect field."

I nodded as that would work, and I asked the next pressing question. "And when is this convoy coming through?"

"The convoy will arrive in three hours. Should we move out then? We will need to secure the site for the attack." 2B spoke, and I knew she wasn't too happy about this.

It was one thing to kill Maelstrom gangsters who had all but given up on their humanity. It was a whole other situation when our goal was to roll over some people just doing their jobs.

"Yes, we should get the site ready. And I know how you guys feel about this kind of thing, so I have prepared non-lethal electric taser rounds. So we don't need to kill any of the guards."

All the androids including Devola and Popola obviously felt a great deal better now at my reminder. And in the meantime, I continued working on the Space Elevator, which was in theory, completely done at this point.

Just in segments so there wasn't a fucking massive tower breaking into the atmosphere that would send a dozen cargo container's of materials up into orbit.

In either case, the only issue I had was getting the Lithium to make the Tritium, which I needed for my Pinch Reactors.

"I will be in the armored carrier modifying it so we can tow the train cart back here. You ladies get everything we need ready, otherwise." I spoke as I left the meeting room.

A few minutes later we set out with my pheremones and slave chips making sure that the Giant Ant's didn't attack us as we moved out of the facility and headed back into the desert and headed back towards Night City.

"Hmm oh? This is interesting." I muttered as I got a message from David but the content of the message made me frown a bit.

[Jake, my mom got tagged in a shootout with some Animals that tried to hit her ambulance and several others for drugs. She will be fine with the extra meds you left behind for us, but she gave me a Sandy before she fell into a deep sleep to heal according to that Auto Doc.]

I had indeed left behind the Auto Doc back at my apartment which David and Gloria had a key into. For the simple reason that I wanted someone to keep an eye on my apartment to make sure that other people didn't turn it into a trap house or something.

Likewise leaving the Auto Doc behind wasn't really a lose as it's most important and valuable features was all the data I had uploaded into it and took with me in a copy.

'Hmm... So canon still rolls around one way or another. I am not sure if that's the same sandy that Gloria was supposed to sell to Maine though. As it sounds like Gloria got shot up on the same day as getting it.' I mused to myself.

Which meant that, the Sandy wasn't claimed by Maine as it were. As Maine still very much needed to tone down his implants and get his implants in order before he slotted in even a new neural port.

[I am glad that Gloria is alright then. I will check the auto docs records to give you an estimate for when she will wake up... Are you good thou David? Do you need any help with anything, food, etc?]

Despite David being a potentially very strong and skilled Edgerunner in the future. He still very much was a late teenager. And he almost assuredly coudn't pay his own bills, and other stuff.

And I was actually concerned a bit because David was both a decent friend, and a good neighbor I had, had for a solid month actually.

[I am good on the bills and shit choomba. Nah, I had a major favor to ask you Jake.]

I raised an eyebrow at seeing the message and then he finally messaged me back a minute later. [I need your help to have this Sandy chipped into me. I want to hunt down those Animal fucks who put holes in my mom.]

I exhaled heavily with 2B asking curiously. "Are you alright Jake? You look troubled."

A grunt escaped me before I explained my circumstances with David and his request.

2B and especially the other androids grimaced at my explanation. But in the end, I had to agree as I didn't want David to run to that shitty Ripperdoc who wanted the Sandy and did a purposefully shit job with it.

So I messaged back. [Fine. I will be in town and can install it later tonight. But you will be fucked up for a solid week to recover from jumping into a Sandy, David.] I warned him.

And that was the solid truth. Having used a point to give myself more knowledge of biochemistry, biomechanics, and other similar fields. I knew how to intergrate implants better then the Megacorps themselves.

Although I didn't know the exact specs of the Sandy he got. If it was the same expermental military hardware as in canon. Then it was going to play fucking merry hell with David's 95-96 percent organic body.

So beyond just the Sandy being installed, he was going to need some other shit added to him, so his nerves didn't fry themselves to say the least.

[Thank you Jake. I appreciate it choom.] David sent back, and although the sentence wasn't exactly overflowing with gratitiude or effuse thanks.

I knew that David was extremely thankful... Now I just need to make sure the damned fool didn't kill himself throwing himself at the Animals even if I hooked him up with that Sandy.

An errant thought ran through my head actually. 'Hmm, maybe I could head off David's stupidity by killing a fuck load of Animals for him.'

But the thought was pushed aside, as the Animals weren't Maelstrom who had little to no outward contacts. Making a massive mess in slaughtering a bunch of Animals, disregarding the stress it would put on my androids.

Would bring too much attention onto me and my androids frankly.

I leaned back in my chair as I took in the rest of the androids in the armored carrier that was next to the highly electrified tracks that would be carrying the cargo coming soon.

"Alright, we all have our rolls right? First using the carrier's railgun cannon to shoot out the plasma casters, then the explosion to knock it off the magnetic rails. Then we will subdue any guards as we hook up the cargo container before we go." I clarified.

D1 the defender unit spoke quietly as she added. "The Faraday Cage is already active. We are in a blind spot currently with reflective emp glitter being released to block off the sight of any satellites that have been recording in the area as well."

I nodded and thus all that was left was waiting.

And that's what happened. I waited patiently in silence until the sound of heavy wind being pushed around hit my ear's even inside of the armored carrier.

The cargo train was here. And with loud thump's the dual rail cannons built into the armor carrier's went to work, shooting large slugs at insane speed into the delicate but extremely dangerous plasma caster's built atop the train.

Then I covered my ears and closed my eyes' to the observation camera's to keep them from being blinded as a massive Boom! Rang out as the very large bomb went off violently. Which threw the magnetic train literally into the air and off the rails to our side of the rails.

"YoRHa move out!" 2B snapped out sharply as she shot out of the armored carrier with the oversized taser rifles I had prepared so they woudn't need to kill simple civilains. Civilains working for Vault Tech, but still civilians all the same.

If it was their scientist's I would have them shot without a moment's hesitation however for their atrocities no doubt!

The rumble of the train dragging itself across the gravel road ended, and the armored carrier quickly moved into position with two of the five defender unit's quickly using a plasma cutter to cut off the coupling units attaching the carts.

And as the extremely strong D units of YoRHa moved the cart containing the Lithium I needed for my future inventions. A violent scream of metal being torn apart rang out.

I looked through the armored carrier's camera's towards the source of the noise... And as I saw the source. I literally froze as I recongized the person.

An almost completely human looking Super Mutant, but Behemoth size. And covered in power armor that clearly wasn't currently powered and in one hand he had a trio of massive metal claws over his armored glove. On the other arm of his armor, he had a massive minigun that belonged on something like a tank or a fighter plane.

Instantly I controlled the rail guns on the armored carrier and aimed at the man as the minigun on Frank Horrigan's arm spun to life.

But then Frank's armored unoccupied hand raised and I cursed as a fucking hard light shield formed in front of himself with both rail guns round smashing into the shield of light that pushed the monster of a 'human being' back a dozen meters.

"Get back into the carrier now! We are getting out of here!" I ordered firmly.

As should Frank Horrigan be here... That meant that more than just Lithium was likely to be on this train. That or Vault Tech already thought someone was going to attack their convoy but closer to or inside of Night City.

And the thought of Adam Smasher, Frank Horrigan and a bunch of Tyrant's duking it out on the street's. Or more likely in the sewer's where the corps where most openly fighting...

I was very fucking glad to be out of Night City right now.

A loud clang rang out as the D unit's fastened the clamps onto the cargo container carrying the Lithium and then with a flex of my will. And a heat in my back as my biotics flared to life as I made the cargo container weightless with a Mass Effect field.

All the while, the machine gun turrets, missile launchers, and the rail guns on the armored carrier were unloading on Frank's form. But his hard light shield was seemingly impregnable somehow...

A loud roar rang out as 2B controlled the armored carrier's engines to zip us off into the distance at full power with Franks' roar of anger entering the armored carrier as we fled the scene.

"That... Wasn't a man." I heard Commander White mutter as Popola and Devola also broke into mutters about the horrible genetic monster that was Frank Horrigan.

The man, the myth, and the horrible legend that could with his bare fucking hands. Beat an Mother Deathclaw to death.

He was the man that when he said he could beat a bear in a fist fight... That was a forgone conclusion. He could quite literally beat a grizzly to death with a single hand.

"That is Frank Horrigan... Vault Tech's boogey man. And someone we can't deal with, without overwhelming firepower as you can see." I spoke quietly as something else pinged in my mind/cyberdeck.

"Sir, there is heavy radiation being nominally contained within the cargo container. But there is a slight leak due to the crash." Another battle model android spoke making my face pinch.

"Let me check what's in it." I spoke as we continued to drive off as quick as we could and even had decoy drones wiping out the tracks of our driving and to divert attention to loop around towards Night City to beat any trackers off of us.

And after a moment of using my neural cable to link into the cargo container to check out it's contents... I realized the actual reason why the convoy had a such a monster guarding it.

The container was filled with barriers of already fucking enriched Tritium. Literally exactly what I needed thankfully. But it was clear that Vault Tech was planning to get trigger happy with some mini-nukes and other horrible radiation weapons.

'Hmm, this heist will likely make Vault Tech think it was Umbrella, Arasaka, or even Militech. As they would get in trouble when it's found they were bringing in so much controlled radioactive materials.' I mused as I realized that Vault Tech was going to be on the war path to figure out 'who' sold them out.

We made our way back to my fortified site without anything else of note happening and likewise, with the Tritium and the other materials we had collected. I was able to get the dozens of Pinch Reactor's active which would provide all the energy needs my facility had.

"One small step for humanity. One big fuck you to the Xeno's." I muttered as everything was set. Dozen's missile launcher's, laser batteries, plasma casters, hard light shields. I had done everything I could conceivably do to improve the defenses of my facility.

To say nothing of the crowd of tens of thousands of Giant Ant's that were underground and would act as a more passive line of defense.

It was time for me to set off the fireworks as it were, in getting the Space Elevator going!

A loud thrum rang out. As I used the Satisfactory build gun to get select the Space Elevator and with a massive loud roar. Pieces of materials shot into the air as the massive Space Elevator was quickly built over the course a couple of minutes.

"Whelp... There went any notion of being subtle." I muttered as the Space Elevator shot into the air, literally all the way into the atmosphere and with a thrum of heavy force, the central orbital station began visibly filling in which was outside of the Earth's effect of gravity.

Which meant that literally everyone outside of Night City for hundreds of miles would see the Space Elevator due to the lights I had to install into it. To make sure that no plane's 'accidentally' flew into it.

Comments

I want to see how the other companies react to the space elevator.

I think the title for the chapter is at the bottom but tftc

Samuel Famakinwa

On the subject of Frank, did you know you could loot his weapons by turning Fallout 2's settings for gore down. Forget which gore setting but the weapons weighed 1 lbs each as you weren't supposed to be able to get them.
