Broken Hearts. Mended Lives Chapter 29

Once we got onto the large Jet on a bench and strapped in, Logan sat across from us and he wore a bit of an awkward expression as he spoke. "So... Jake, while you are welcome without issue in Xavier's place. I do need to give you a bit of a heads up." 

I blinked at that, and for a moment I worried I was being gang pressed into the fucking X-men, but Logan took a breath and looked clearly uninterested in this conversation. But knew it needed to be said.

"When one of our telepaths did their little nosy shit in your girls mind, they had to organize the traumatic memories... In a very deliberate way as she put herself into a small coma from the trauma she absorbed from her." Logan spoke and I paused hearing that.

Logan then took out a cigar and I could hear Beast in the front of the jet alongside Colossus grunting in disgust as Logan shamelessly lit up the cigar. "The point of what I am saying is a bit complicated and I wish Beast was the one to explain, but he is busy flying and Colossus is boy scout virgin who can't speak of these topics."

He then took a puff off the cigar before blowing it to the side so the smoke didn't directly hit me or my girls. "So Jean, the pretty redhead who poked in your girls head had to organize all those memories in a more positive light... Using Hinata's reference of you as a pillar of stability and thus when another telepath poked around Jean's head. She got an even stronger mental rebound of those altered memories and sensations."

My lips twitched before I said slowly and with great care. "I see... I will try to give those two telepaths some space. But the telepaths should know not to peak in Ahri's memories as well. As she had gone through similar treatment."

There was an awkward silence as Logan just looked at me before looking at the blank faced Ahri whose nine fluffy tails were wrapped around my back. "Gotcha. I will send Xavier a message to tell the other two not to touch your groups minds.... But are you looking for broken birds kid?" Logan asked me with a slight glare.

I deadpanned at him and said flatly. "No... They are quite literally dropped onto my lap. Anyway, how long will the flight be?" 

Logan leaned back and called out towards the front of the jet. "Hank! When we getting home?"

And Hank Mcoy spoke through the jet's intercom in a more measured tone. "We will be back in less then an hour."

With that, I just shrugged while I saw Elsa and Annika shift a bit as they moved a bit as they clearly weren't used to the small bits of turbulence running through the jet.

Then I felt a pop in the back of my head and I smiled as the memories of my shadow clone came through and I knew that it had worked as the spatial transfer seal that Hinata had taught me had worked!

I now had some Antarctic Vibranium! Otherwise known as Anti-Metal due to it's ability to use it's outward super vibrations to break the molecular bonds that hold together metals... And even kill people by violently breaking apart the trace metals in their own body!

Obviously not being an idiot, I didn't whip out the greatsword made out of the metal on the very metal ship. But either way I was distracted as Logan continued. "Anyway... Jean and Frost are big girls, we hope it stays-" 

Logan paused before shaking his head and saying. "Chuck hopes things don't get violent, or at least any violence is confined to the Danger Room which can handle any issues." 

I blinked and then I asked to clarify as I shoudn't know this was the case. "Is Chuck, Xavier's first name or something?"

And there was a moment where Logan paused as he went to take another puff off his cigar. Then without a change in expression he nodded and said seriously. "Yup that's right bub. He prefers you call him chuck or chucky if you are coming to live there as well. Seeing as he is always called Xavier in stuffy meetings and shit."

'Logan is fuckin with me.' I thought with amusment as Hinata who was trained as a ninja gave me a slight squeeze on the leg in warning at Logan's BS.

But I just kept an understanding expression as we moved onto other topics such as where Ahri, Annika, and Elsa would be given a side house for them to move into Colussus had already sent Xavier word of our coming arrival and he got our situation in order.

And soon enough we came to an honestly awkwardly smooth landing as the X-Jet was a V-Tol style jet and could land in a slow landing straight to the ground and as we came down, I coudn't help but ask. "How the hell do people sleep around here with this big jet landing?" 

And Logan with zero hesitation answered plainly. "Practise... Same way people in downtown New York manage to sleep. Same way as humans in the trenches of WW1 did when artillery was being constantly dropped on them. You get used to it." 

We then climbed off the jet and as we came out of it, I realized we were already in the underground section of the X-Men's mansion as I could see the roof above our head and the seam that allowed it to seperate to let the jet to land.

Then a large metal door on the other side of the room opened up and I saw Xavier himself. And he was exactly as I remembered from the comics in being very bald and confined to his wheelchair.

And as I saw him in the wheelchair. I coudn't help musing. 'I wonder if this is a version of Xavier who would work with Tony Stark to give him mechanical legs or a flying wheelchair?'

"Welcome new friends. As you may know, this is mansion is Xavier's Home for Gifted Youngsters, where we provide schooling and lessons on how to control your powers. As well as provide a safe enviroment." Xavier spoke with great charisma as he took in our forms.

And for a moment I thought he would comment on Ahri or Annika who were rather inhuman looking. But then again, there was Glob who had no skin and you could see his inner organs and bones.

Or Nightcrawler who was quite literally more demon then 'human'.

So Xavier was likely one of the last people who would judge other's via their appearances. "Hello Mr, Xavier. Or would you prefer me to call you Chuck as Logan advised me to?"

Xavier only gave an amused thin smile at Wolverine who just chuckled as Colossus and Hank left the jet after powering it down and what not.

Then Xavier said calmly. "You can call what you wish Jake, and the rest of you as well. Please, follow me though. We have much to speak of." 

We followed Xavier out of the large jet's parking area with Logan sticking back with the other two men and then as we entered a large elevator that would take us up into the mansion Xavier spoke again.

"So I was forewarned about your dietary needs Ahri, Annika, Elsa. Is there is anything I need to prepare for your consumption? I can fairly easily get some blood bags from a local hospital after all." He asked respectfully.

But Annika and Elsa both wore disdainful expressions for a moment before Annika said in wry smile. "We appreciate it, but a quarter of a pint of blood from Jake is enough to feed us for a week. And dead blood doesn't truly feed our kind, only soothes the hunger." 

Dead blood meaning blood that had been removed from the body for more than half an hour and thus losing the spiritual life force within it.

In either case Xavier looked to Ahri who said quietly. "Only Jake with his unlimited lifeforce can feed my needs. I was modified by a hemomancer to be far more powerful then the rest of my kind at the expense of needing constant massive infusions of lifeforce." 

And Xavier's face tightened before he said darkly. "I assume that blood mage wanted to use you as a disposable weapon. Or a weapon of mass death correct?"

Ahri nodded silently and I said quietly but firmly. "Ahri is like Hinata for you telepaths, Xavier... Going into her mind along with her inhuman nature would force the intruder to see some-"

I paused unsure what to say before Xavier nodded in understanding before looking at Ahri and saying in a measured tone. "I have a bit of understanding in this... Though you may not respect it, I have seen all sorts of horrors from the minds of others and with my power's experienced them as though I myself was there. I have seen the Halocaust through a dozen eye's for example." He finished with a haunted tone before giving a slight shake of the head.

"In either case. We have another life force absorber in the mansion and maybe you two can become friends. Now Jake, Hinata, let me show you to your room's within the mansion. Then we can head to the side house alloted to your... Dependants Jake." Xavier spoke a bit awkwardly as he clearly didn't know what to say about my relationship with two vampires, and a life force eater.
