Genshin/Hunter Chapter 123

Coming over to the Knights of Favonius's headquarters, I was swiftly welcomed by the noises of combat in the back training area behind the facility so I went over and looked.

Only to see Noelle, the trainee knight and maid who was infamous for failing to properly pass her tests to join the Knights was hard at work... Utterly destroying a large metal target with her greatsword that was augmented with geo energy so she wasn't trashing her blade.

Noelle's fighting style was that of brutality, wide swiping blows that with her great sword would rend massive wounds and with her innate super strength. She undoubtedly could overwhelm the blows of even Mitachurls and other stronger monsters with her own blows.

After a couple of moments, Noelle seemingly caught vision of me in the corner of her eye and her swordplay faltered a bit before she re-centered herself and she finished her set of movements before she turned towards me with a smile.

"Jake! I am glad to see you well and back in Mondstadt!" Noelle spoke happily, and I was reminded that Noelle happily opened up her apartment to Lumine and me.

So I matched her smile and strode over and spoke. "Your sword play has gotten better Noelle, you do credit to the Knights of Favonius."

As her smile brightened, I casually leaned against the beaten up metal target and I asked curiously. "So how have you been for the last half a year?" It had indeed been a long while since I had seen Noelle and unlike in the game Genshin Impact.

People most certainly did age and change over the course of half a year when they were only in their late teens like Noelle was.

"Oh I have been quite well Jake, I wish you and Lumine would pen us some letters even if you were in Inazuma though!" The silver-haired maid said a bit pointedly, making me laugh awkwardly before she shook her head and continued.

"Though I have been quite busy for the last couple of weeks, all things told. The Wind Blume festival is Mondstadt's premiere festival and much has to be prepared for it, with the hands of the Knights of Favonius." 

I nodded as I knew that was the case, but either way, I asked. "I see, then can I help in any way? I came here to Mondstadt for a small vacation before Lumine and I continued our journey."

Noelle blinked at my offer before she shrugged and said with a wry smile. "Even if you are an honorary knight. I doubt Jean will drop a bunch of chores onto you. But if you do want to help, I suggest asking her as she will know where you can be used to help."

After sharing some more pleasantries with Noelle, I then made my way into the main Knight's building only for a loud boom to ring out making my steps stutter a bit and in perfect unison. Myself and a dozen other knights and other people muttered.

"Klee..." 

Obviously that little explosive obsessed girl was busy having her fun. But I just powered on as I headed over to Jean's office and thankfully she wasn't hosting anyone. Even if she still had the typical mountain of paperwork she did as per normal.

Seeing me, Jean smiled ruefully and spoke in amusement. "Well well, look who has come back to Mondstadt after spending three months in Inazuma. How have you been Jake, was your training fruitful?" 

"Yes, it was very truthful. It allowed me to greatly master the Electro element in being trained by the very Electro archon herself along with Yae Miko herself." I spoke as I walked closer to Jean.

"I can see you are especially busy right now Jean, and I was hoping I could help with the Wind Blume festival starting in the next few days, along with Lumine and Eula as well?"

Jean was silent for a moment before she took a breath and spoke with some thought. "Hmm, yes if you are willing. I would ask that you escort a small caravan of wine from the southern vineyards. It would only take you a couple hours of walking to get there and via the carriage it will likely only take a quarter of that time barring any incidents."

I went to agree, thinking I could get to Diluc's Dawn Winery in literal minutes if I used my Anemo hypostasis to fly there But then Jean smiled and added. "But before all that. Hmm, yes could you go check in with Lisa in the library? I think she has been looking for some help from someone who can use elemental energy and specifically electro energy."

I blinked at the request before nodding with a wry smile as I knew Mondstadt didn't exactly have the best Electro users in reality. As Fischl being hyper omega Chuuni and Razor being literally Tarzan who was raised by wolves didn't exactly inspire confidence in control over Electro energy.

"Yeah sure, I can check in with Lisa first then. Uhh when will that escort need to be done though?" 

Jean smiled at my acceptance before she said easily as she picked back up her pen to mark something... Mark my very name down actually.

"Preferably today if that's alright. The caravan is waiting at the Dawn Winery, and without a knight or Diluc himself to escort the large convoy of wine. Then it's very possible Treasure Hunters will attack the convoy for the hundreds of thousands worth of Mora in wine being transported." 

"That's a fair point. Alright Jean, I will take care of it today, do not worry." I spoke as I thought about getting to talk with Diluc again who was one of the few men in this world I actually became friends with.

As to be fair... There really weren't any men around me with Vision's I could even become friends with that easily.

Kaeya was weird and came off with a scammer vibe. Kazuha was pretty cool and someone I was able to speak with and trust. But the rest? Yeah not so much honestly.

Though to be fair I hadn't really gone out of my way to interact with the men of Genshin Impact for the most part. I would have tried to meet with Zhongli, but the Fatui hit his berserk button when they brought back and enslaved Guizhong's soul.

So he was still mostly in Morax mode and sticking with the Adepti as he was keeping Fatui and Abyssal influences out of Liyue... With extreme violence befitting the 'winner' of the Archon War.
