Super Gene Ascension Chapter 7

Getting up the next morning, I sat on the edge of my bed, honestly thinking about what I was about to go and do. I was going to go into the northern mountains of the Black Steel Shelter. And knowingly hunt down an asshole, but a person all the same.

All for the sole purpose of taking the special Geno Martial Art he had in the Jade Skin Geno Art. I had a variety of reasons to go and take it from him. But that still left at the core of doing that very thing in me being literally a bandit and going out of my way to go kill him the dude and take the hyper-geno art.

There was literally no way for me to get the Geno Art without killing him obviously. No one would just hand over their 'cultivation' art especially a young master like himself. 

And I also couldn't exactly let him live to go back home and tell his huge clan that literally owned dozens of planets that I jacked his hyper-geno art either.

So I needed to kill him for the Hyper Geno martial art that would basically set me up for life and with its frost attribute. I would be able to emulate some of the bullshit that Kuzan from One Piece got up to.

"It's a bit fucked up... But the path of kings and becoming a god isn't one with a clean road." I muttered as I mentally dealt with the bit of angst I had for the situation.

I then headed out of my apartment without any major issues super early in the morning as I headed towards the Sanctuary teleporter nearby.

Once I got into the building itself hosting the portals. I raised an eyebrow as I saw that Yang Manli finally sent over my payment for escorting those two girls around. And the clan points was... Decent, but not something that would buy me something like a Hyper Geno Art at all.

Even a really shitty one was out of my reach, no what the clan points really were for, was to have a currency that would facilitate the trade of Beast Souls and other things. Which due to my Geno Gem, I didn't exactly need obviously.

But I could still spend the points on maps, guides, and among other things, I obviously needed with how I was still a loner. I went out of the Black Steel Shelter, and then I was off towards the northern mountains.

And with how I left at the crack of dawn, it was the most quiet time of day in the Sanctuary. All the nocturnal life forms had retreated for their burrows, the daylight hunters and herbivores were just waking up themselves.

So I made a good distance from the Black Steel Shelter without any real issue.

Until like three hours in, where the flatter forests I was walking through became more hilly with the trees becoming taller and wider spread outwards.

"Ahh hell..." I muttered with a twitching lip as I saw a whole herd of giant buffalo with bone spikes that protected the joints they sprouted from. And I knew these were Wood Eater Buffalo who were a race of Mutated creatures.

"Time to go around." I muttered knowing that although the buffalo's were generally herbivores. They basically had the temperament of a hippo with a toothache.

I carefully made my way around the Wood Eater Buffalo's and then a loud howl rang out through the early morning. 

The Wood Eater Buffalo herd stopped their loud messing eating of the softer roots of the massive tree's and looked around. Their red glowing sideways eyes that matched a goat's scanned the area.

And then the eyes of the herd landed on me...

The largest Wood Eater Buffalo bellowed furiously with its massive hooked front paws and threw dirt behind it as it instantly decided it was fucking on sight with me and charged!

In response to the herd of oh... Like twenty truck-sized giant buffalo's charging at me as the rest of the pack obviously followed their alpha. I did the wise thing and booked it.

I sprinted towards the northern mountain and used my human agility to climb up and jump up large hills and platforms in the steeply rising hills. And as I came up to the forest I realized that the alpha was still charging for me so I scowled knowing that hurting the alpha would only cement it's hatred.

So I needed to either kill it as soon as possible while it was out of sight of the rest of its pack. Or I needed to keep running, making a huge amount of noise, drawing god what knows what else in the hopes it gave up.

But after a moment of thought with the charging Wood Eater Buffalo charging at me as we were running across a somewhat flat area allowing it to gain on me. I ran towards a thicker tree.

And as I came to the tree I wrapped and arm around it to turn me around the tree and shift all my momentum with the angry Wood Eater Buffalo just smashing into and through the tree as it angrily tried to trample me under it's hooked claws that allowed it to more easily traverse the muddy hills.

Using the tree to violently change my direction of motion worked perfectly as I threw myself at the huge Wood Eater Buffalo and I stabbed the mutant-ranked Desert Scorpion- Beast Soul spear into it's front right knee.

A wed crack rang out as the toxin-covered spear broke the alpha's knee making it howl with fury and lash out with the large horns on its head. But remembering all too well the agony of being gored previously I used Kami-E to go limp and flow around the rows of bone spikes that tried to carve me up.

"Fuck right off you territorial little shit!" I snapped as I stepped forward trusting in my Sacred Blood armor to protect me as I grabbed one of the swiping antlers and I was yanked off the ground with the insane strength of the Wood Eater Buffalo.

But in it's blind rage it didn't even realize where it had thrown me... Which was straight up and I came down with my armored fist clenched with my willpower and with a loud crack I punched the back of the head of the Wood Eater Buffalo in a parody of the Galaxy Impact I looked forward to doing someday correctly.

I had a good number of geno points, coming close to having maxed out my ordinary, primitive, and more than halfway filled up in mutant points. So when I punched the Wood Eater Buffalo in the back of the head. 

It was actually a powerful blow that although not at all lethal or anything. It definitely made it pause allowing me to wrench out both of my mutant rank dagger beast souls and the alpha Wood Eater Buffalo gurgled in fury and began struggling again as I rammed the daggers into its skull and into its brain.

But it's struggles combined with it's ruined front leg resulted in the massive Wood Eater Buffalo collapsing on its side with myself rolling off so as to not get pinned. And as it landed I saw how it's head landed on one of my daggers.

"Well worth it!" I cheered happily at seeing how I got a pet which could double up as a mount not to mention help me in battle!
