Cursed to Infinity Chapter 19

Toji for all that he 'appreciated' my warning about Makima. Was firmly of the opinion that Mei Mei was a fucking tard for signing a contract with the devil and had gotten her just desserts.

"Yeah, do whatever the fuck you want with her. So long as she is being used to kill curses, devils, monsters, and all the other bullshit I coudn't care less about how you treat her." He said flatly as he kicked up his feet on the desk as Ui Ui just gaped at the principal of the Kyoto branch of Jujutsu Tech.

And finally Ui Ui spoke quietly. "Shoudn't you be like... Trying to protect her even slightly from the Control Devil?" 

And Toji raised an eyebrow before he said bluntly. "I am the principal of this school. I am the scary fucker who rips the heads of anyone who causes trouble within Kyoto itself... Makima is bound up by Tokyo's assholes and I am not getting involved in that when Mei Mei caused this whole issue."

Toji looked back to me boredly and he said bluntly. "As I said before, if I hear Makima is in the Kyoto area. I will gladly pluck her head from her shoulders with my bare hands. But I got my own bigger issues that keep me in the Kyoto area. Now go on and get, we both have work to do."

I silently nodded as my mission appointment to deal with that water dragon was coming up so I just said. "Alright, Toji. I still just wanted to give you a heads up."

And he just waved a hand as he looked down to his paperwork before he said dully. "Eh, the stupid bitch decided to try to fuck with my golden goose. I would have beaten her half to death should her plan work anyway." 

With that, I just smiled wryly before I firmly took Ui Ui's soft hand into my own. "Alright Ui Ui, take us back home." 

Abruptly I was teleported back into the living room and I saw Anya and Alyx jump as they were sitting on the couch next to each other.

"I am back!" I said with a wide smile before my smile deepened seeing the large boxed lunchs clearly ready for myself, Ui Ui, and Mei Mei.

"Thank you girls for the food." I said in thanks with Anya and Alyx giving demure smile with Alyx saying jokingly.

"It's no problem at all. Just next time please skip giving us a heart attack haha." 

I could only smile at that and looking at the time again, I looked over at Mei Mei who was sharpening her large cursed great axe and I said. "Mei Mei, let's get going. We have a bit of walking to do to get to where the convoy is meeting."

As teleporting in front of a bunch of hyped-up sorcerer's devil contractor's and other sounded like a good way to get fucked up.

Mei Mei knowing the unspoken logic I had got up silently and with Ui Ui carrying our lunches, we left my apartment after I gave Anya and Alyx a quick hug goodbye.

And soon enough after a good five-minute walk through the huge Kyoto Jujutsu Tech's campus we made it to the loading dock where I quickly found Noritoshi Kamo the leader of the expedition even if I didn't recognize any of the other sorcerer's and other people in the group.

"Kamo." I said respectfully and the heir of the Kamo clan gave me a nod of acknowledgment and I knew he was in full clan heir mode so I said simply. "I have Ui Ui, and Mei Mei here as bodyguards. During the fighting that is to come, allow Ui Ui to teleport any wounded to me if that is agreeable with you." 

There was a pause as Noritoshi Kamo considered the information before he spoke calmly. "Your healing, it's not on a basis by basis correct?" 

To which I shook my head and said firmly. "No, I am being paid for this trip with the dragon flesh and a lump sum payment. However, if your men get themselves harmed too often I won't be able to heal them as I need space between healing uses." 

"That is agreeable and understandable. Alright Jake, you go get into the second armored truck from the middle. The drive to the dragon is through some rough terrain in the mountains so the ride will probably be more than half an hour." 

I nodded in understanding with Ui Ui and Mei Mei following me into the indicated truck without question and I noticed how it was armored in a way to protect the driver and passengers as the sections were separated by thick metal plates.

"Mei Mei, you sit with the driver... I don't want us to 'get lost' and driven away from the convoy if our driver is with Makima or something." I ordered with Mei Mei giving a wry smile before nodding and saying.

"That is a valid point Jake. Alright, I will do so. Ui Ui." Mei Mei spoke looking towards her younger masterfully groomed little sister who perked up at Mei Mei's direct attention.

"You make sure to watch Jake, and if someone other than myself open's the door leading into the car you teleport Jake and yourself to China to get away from Makima and anyone who is hunting him."

For a moment I considered countermanding those orders, but frankly, it was a good idea to get my ass of Japan in a hurry should Makima make another overt move. As China also had it's own ' flourishing supernatural' scene of bullshit which would counter Makima moving in.

So I climbed up into the rather comfortable back seat of the armored truck and just waited for the truck to get going.
