Upgrades Chapter 95

You know that moment when something so huge passes by your mind due to a whole fucking mess of shit happening and like days later you realize you are a complete damned idiot? 

Yeah that was me when I was doing my stint looking through my fusion inventory and finding the fucking high ranking Grimoire from Hera that I got for healing Alfia and Materia.

Although... I did have my mind full with like, nailing Kali and breeding her. Getting into a relationship with Materia herself. And of course the Amphisbeanea hitting Melen really put a damper on things.

So it's not that I completely 'forget' the Grimoire as much as I kinda had alot more on my plate. But with Blake busy reading her smut or whatever in her room. And Tina an Tamamo having a slumber party over at the Astraea Familia.

Now was the perfect time to use this Gimoire.

I took the Grimoire out of my fusion inventory and I inspected it for a long moment before I hummed in thought. "Well, I got plenty of time get put into a little coma... Hepheastus is going to be pissed I am having her update me on the same day due to forgetting this though." 

As the Hepheastus Familia was a large Familia even after the Zeus culling, and normally Hepheastus had people come at the end of the day at certain times. So she didn't have to constantly prick her finger across the day and make her smithing more difficult.

The Grimoire itself was... Rather non-descript honestly. Bound in a dark fabric-like backing its pages were slightly uneven like more common books here in the world of Danmachi were as the Printing Press wasn't really a thing.

Taking a deep breath I opened the book with my eyes fell upon the book's enchanted words, and the moment my eyes fell onto the enchanted words my eyes dimmed and I lost consciousness. 

When my eyes opened I quickly took in how I was surrounded by totally white surroundings with myself standing somehow in the white void. But as I turned around my lips twitched as I met the gaze of a doppelganger of myself.

"So is this where you ask what I think magic is? And I go on some kind of soul trip to discover what is at my core?" 

The doppelganger gave a knowing smile before it slowly shook its head and I held in a shiver at just... How wrong it sounded for my own voice to come out perfectly back to me.

"You know who and what you are Jake... Dying has a good way of making you see yourself in your most honest form doesn't it?" 

I swallowed at the calm delivery and I closed my eyes to block out the white void and the scary doppelganger before I said quietly. "I don't want to die again... Magic should be the force that keeps me from dying and being hurt." 

And my consciousness dimmed as the doppelganger stated in a voice that seeped down into my very soul, touching upon my very soul. "Magic is the power of defending one's self huh... Sound's rather cowardly at first glance, but when you are the final one standing after battling a thousand equals, then you are the strongest after all."

Several hours had passed to which I woke up to the soft humming of a feminine voice and I quickly realized that in my defenseless state of having used the the Grimoire, I had been moved to allow someone to give me a lap pillow of all things.

And after a couple moments of thought, even without opening my eyes I spoke softly. "And how are you Kali?" As only Kali had thigh's so thick and soft... Also, she adored this soap made with cinnamon that would make her skin very sensitive to my touch.

"Hmm, and how was your nap?" She responded gently.

And as I went to respond I opened my eyes to seeing her large breasts hanging over my head as she began softly threading her hand through my hair. "It was... Productive as you may have noticed with the Grimoire you moved." 

Kali gave a soft hum before she said quietly. "Yes I did notice, a blank book with no title and while still bearing some magic, it had lost all the letters in the book." 

I picked up the dead Grimoire beside myself and just to inspect it, I flipped through the hundreds of pages only to see blank bleached thicker paper that was devoid of all writing. "Yeah... Now to get Hepheastus to update my Familia after not even a couple of hours." 

And Kali giggled and poked my cheek as she said. "I would hurry up then Jake. She is already doing her daily Falna updates with it getting late in the day. I can start dinner while you are gone as well." 

I took a deep breath before I exhaled and said. "Alright alright, I will get going. Make sure Blake is ready for tommorrow as well, we are all heading into the dungeon to see where she best fit's in." 

Kali paused before her hand slide down my waist and she simpered. "You are going to make me go to the dungeon? I am alreadly pregnant though?" 

To which I said flatly. "You are barely even a month pregnant, and you are an amazon even if your beastkin blood is more dominant... You no matter how weak, are still a level three and we aren't going deep at all." I listed off several points.

Kali's hand that had been teasing going down to my groin paused before I could all but feel Kali's pout where she muttered. "Fine fine... Make the housewife work so hard. I see how it is."

"How did you even get to level three to begin with you lazy cat?" I demanded teasingly.

And with zero shame Kali said proudly. "Poison! Assassination's of much more powerful enemies, and having my previous husband acting as a distraction after I did as much damages as I could!"

My lips twitched as I realized Kali was similar to the girls that Mia Grande suckered into working at the Hostess of Fertility after they caused a bunch of damage to her resturant during a botched assassination.

Assassin's leveled up here in Danmachi just like any other adventurer but their level up's were more commonly based on killing a higher leveled adventurer, or a more powerful monster with pure skill making up for their lack of slaughtering mooks like the rest of us did.

Either way after playing grab ass with Kali for a bit and being sent off with a fresh hickey on my neck I went straight to Hepheastus and got my Falna updated with said forge goddess giving me an earful for being a dumbass.

Development Abilities-
Fusion Upgrade Modules- Pets/Trials,Skill, Magic Fusion-

Skills-
Endymion Poiménas- Passively boosts all creature's physical and magical strength tamed by host by fifty percent. The longer the tamed beast follows the host, the higher the boost will become over time.

Tribulationes Mille- Allows the user to fuse the skills and magic's the user gains from the fusion challenges into stronger forms.

Invictus- The user's will not break via external influences. Shields the user from mind control or illusions.

Magesight- The user is able to see magical signatures in various hues based on who or what the magical signature belongs to. Increases the user's ability to see through illusions.

Ydraktónos- The larger the monster the user faces, the higher their stat parameters rise to face the monster. Increases damage done to large monsters. Makes wounds dealt by the user to large monsters unable to heal.

Therapeftís Ton Kataraménon- The user's healing spells will greatly exceed their common parameters when the target is considered unhealable by the divine.

Magic-

Fusion Of All Things- Grants the user the control of a pocket space, the user may place things in the pocket space and when desires, he may activate the pocket space that will fuse all things within the space to make a single object that is better than all things that were in the pocket space prior put together. Pocket space will level up with more abilities with subsequent levels of Falna and accomplishing secret quests. Rank F

Aegis Bastion- Short Chant (Basic Shield)-
"O wall of light, stand firm against the storm. Aegis Bastion!"
Intermediate Chant (Three Layers):-
"O radiant bulwark, guardian of the steadfast, weave thy barrier thrice. Shield me from harm, encircle me with thy light. Aegis Bastion!"
Full Chant (Nine Layers):
"O eternal light, forge an unyielding fortress against the pains of the world. Layer upon layer, thy divine aegis shall rise, encasing my soul in an impregnable bastion. As the heavens decree, and as the earth endures, Aegis Bastion!"

And I was swiftly sent packing from Hepheastus's room even if she had a bit of a weird expression after learning about my defensive magic from the Grimoire I used.

But I went home and obviously began messing with the barrier's to see what they could do obviously. And I learned that each barrier which I could also cast on other people. Was basically a spatial shield of sort's that would no sell any attack on my person but would shatter at both the lightest and strongest hits regardless of power.

"Weapons, armor, magic... All things I can get from From Software bosses." I muttered as I considered things as I was feeling a good deal more confident with my new Aegis spell to defend myself.

The question of what I wanted to snag from the other worlds in these damned challenge quests wasn't so simple however, which played into why Dark Soul's, Elden Ring, and some other things were perfect for my growth with their stuff could do anything I wanted.

Because Dark Soul's and Elden Ring also had some very... Very good thing's for fucking up Dragon's which were the most dangerous monsters here in this world of Danmachi. And just imagine if I managed to kill the One-Eyed Black Dragon, Leviathan, and Behemoth before Maxim could.

That would be best revenge obviously. 

Killing him would be great and all... But if I rip literal godhood out from under his ass. Now that would be literally perfect.

So in that vein I looked down at something I wasn't exactly proud of making.
[Blasphemous Blade- Trials 2-
Trial 1 Defeat the corrupted Rykard and the God Devouring Serpent-  Blade is enhanced with the life devouring flames healing the user of wounds and stamina. Uses user's magic as fuel.
Trial 2- Continue to fuse more sentient humanoid corpses into the sword- Enhances the sword's edge, enhances the life-consuming flames, limbs on sword will be dropped into bodies of victims when cut into with sword.]

Such a weapon would be perfect for in fighting massive monsters with my new kaiju slaying-based skill. 

And then there was two other elements I had in mind for magic. Flame spells from Dark Soul's and Elden Ring for buffs and some crowd control. And for pure offensive spell's I had dragon incantations in mind from Elden Ring.

With the spells being downloaded into my soul and mind once I completed the trials/quest's 

'Glinstone Sorcery is also a portal to eldritch shit which is something I don't want to fuck with... If I start turning into a dragon or wyrm with the dragon incantations I can turn myself into a Dragonborn or something to counteract it.' I mused as I held the Giant's Seal in hand.

[Giant's Seal- Trials 3-
Trial 1- Defeat Flame Monk to gain spells, Flame Sling, Fireball, Flame of the Fell God, Burn o Flame, Flame Grant me Strength
Trial 2- Defeat Magma Wyrm- Gain spell's, Flame Protect Me, Flame Cleanse Me, Surge O Flame, Flame Fall Upon Them
Trial 3- Defeat Flame Giant- Gain total access to Giant Flames and it coming to user. Seal merges into user and allows them to cast flame spells without a seal or conduit. Makes user immune to fire and heat based spells and high tempatures in general.]

And finally for the Dragon's Communion Seal it's scaling and trial's were around the same even if I didn't think I could do either of the two's third trial currently... Or maybe I could I don't know how strong these monsters and being were compared to my Falna enhanced form.

[Dragon Comunuion Seal- Trials 4-
Trial 1- Defeat Flying Dragon Agheel to gain access to basic dragon spells-Dragonfire, Dragonice, Glintstone Breath. Dragonclaw, Dragonmaw- User's eye's will slitten and be able to see in the dark while holding the seal on their body
Trial 2- Make Lansseax submit in battle- Lansseax’s Glaive, Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Spear, Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Strike. User's skin will have the durability of the most durable dragon the user has slain, the user will be high resistant to lightning and lightning based magic
Trial 3- Defeat Dragonlord Placidusax to gain access to all dragon communion spells with them being recorded into the user's mind and soul. The user will be able to manifest dragon portions of their body to enhance dragon incantations. Seal will be incorporated into user's body
Trial 4- Defeat Bayle the Dread- User will have the blood of dragon's significantly increasing all forms of draconic magic. Their lifespan greatly increased, and the user will gain much more Excellia from killing other dragons or making them submit to the user.

See looking through the wording... I saw the making Lansseax submit to me, and I was curious. What if I could Tame Lansseax in Danmachi terms. And then. Bring her back with me? 

Either way. I now had a solid path to power laid out before myself. I just needed to get too it now.
