Lord's Tutorial Chapter 7
Added 2024-11-14 18:20:46 +0000 UTCBloodhound Knight Darriwil. The Bloodhound Knights were a group of mutated humans of sorts, and born without the gift of language they were trained to be unrelenting hunters and trackers.
The Bloodhound Knights were also famous for imprinting upon a master and would loyally serve them for life... The fact that Darriwil actually turned traitor when their master was Ranni an actual demi-god and Empyrean, was a very interesting thing when it supposedly never happened before.
Darriwil like the rest of his brethren was a larger humanoid but having a deeply hunched back meant they were always leaning down near the ground where they moved almost on all fours most of the time.
"Rotting in a cell isn't true justice for something like you Darriwil." Blaidde spoke with his deep voice filled with dark intent.
Darriwil in response just flexed itself before it dashed forward in a flicker of speed I couldn't even follow. 'Bloodhound step.' I thought with some awe as I swirled my staff to send a Glinstone Pebble at the stupidly fast night.
And then a loud crash rang out as Blaidde smashed his Glintstone imbued greatsword into Darriwil's curved greatsword with a loud crashing noise.
Then I noticed that even as Blaidde also used the Bloodhound Step to move stupidly fast, he had smashed Darriwil in a way that pushed him into my admittedly weak Glintstone Pebble.
But even if it was the weakest of Glintstone sorcery, it still could track a target through the air, and when it did hit. It could still rip flesh from bone with its cosmic energy.
And it seemed Darriwil knew that allowing me to casually beam him with magic was a fucking god-awful idea.
"Jake watch out!" Blaidde called out as Darriwil broke free of their rapid-fire sword duel and the Bloodhount Knight used another Bloodhound Step to dash towards me.
But I was ready knowing all to well that I was the perfect target, so the moment the fucker blurred from my sight I summed a tower shield from my inventory and braced my foot against the bottom of it.
The shield smacked against my shoulder as Darriwil's curved greatsword slammed its edge into it. Then Darriwil tried to sidestep and come at my side with a powerful stabbing motion.
But again I just shifted the shield and he went skidding across its metal frame with myself smashing a mace I replaced my staff with across his helmeted head as he lost his footing.
Then Blaidde was upon Darriwil with the wolf-headed knight smashing the pommel of his greatsword onto Darriwil's head further dazing him. And then Blaidde held up his sword and I watched as powerful Glintstone magic filled the sword with the blade glowing with power.
And then Blaidde brought the sword down with a wave of blindingly bright Glintstone magic hitting Darriwil and his armored body just evaporated where the hastily gathered Glintstone wave of power washed over his form.
"Dishonorable cur." Blaidde spat as he stomped on the neck of Darriwil who had collapsed with half of it's chest removed. And I could hear the Bloodhound Knight's neck snap loudly under Blaidde's armored boot.
I shifted slightly as I felt a good deal of runes fill my body, even more than that pumpkin head monster that had been guarding Sellen's cave.
"Jake thank you for acting as a wonderful distraction haha. Anyway, you may have the sword as promised." Blaidde spoke with dark humour making me roll my eyes.
"Yeah yeah..." I said with some exasperation making the hound give me a wolfish grin as I walked over and grabbed the Bloodhound's Fang greatsword off the ground where I dropped it into my inventory knowing I needed to upgrade myself and it before I could use it.
"Hmm, you are rather bright and cheery for a tarnished aren't ya." Blaidde noted before he gazed at me long and hard before he said. "Well, if you are in Raya Lucaria, on the western side of the continent, there is a great blacksmith of great renown."
Blaidde took a deep breath before he continued. "His name is Iji, and he is... Very noticeable with his great height. Tell him I sent you, and he will give you aid. Now I wish you the best Jake Bariss, but I must be going."
And I realized something rather crucial as I asked awkwardly. "Hey wait, uhh what's your name?"
Although I myself knew who he was, and more importantly who he served, I still didn't want to trip up saying his name without him having given it at any point.
And Blaidde just blinked before he planted his fist on his chest with a clanking noise as he said calmly. "My name is Blaidde, but I must be going Jake, there is much I must do."
I nodded and said evenly. "Alright, I wish you the best on your hunt Blaidde... I myself got stuff I need to do further south." I muttered more to myself.
Because the Weeping Penisula had a great amount of things my hoarding ass wanted to collect... And frankly, I wanted to see if I could break the fate of this world. Because I was well aware of how certain people no matter what you do in the game, were destined to die.
I wanted to see if I could change that fate with the easiest example in Irina who was Edgar's daughter who was a blind slip of a noble girl who was destined to die the fucking moment I looked away from her or even rest at a Site of Grace after speaking with her.
So with Blaidde gone now, I got back onto Torrent and began riding further south as I made my way to the Bridge of Sacrifice because I wanted to have all the goodies the southern continent had... Including the Grafted Blade Greatsword which I wanted for my main armament with it being a legendary weapon.
'Actually... With how the Grafted Blade Greatsword is a reference to Game of Thrones, is Irina also a reference to how Sansa Stark was helpless?' I mused.
