Kitsune in Teyvat Chapter 24

"You know what... Maybe a humble little kitsune shouldn't be trying to trek all the way across the fucking world. Without a map!" I screamed.

As I stared with weak eyes towards the sight before myself. I saw the city of Mondstadt down the cut-down mountains in the distance... I had apparently gone entirely too far to the East rather than heading North East in trying to find a land passage from Liyue to Fontaine.

"Whelp... I can lay low in Mondstadt for a bit." I thought that even though Lisa and Shenhe knew each other... It was likely that Shenhe would be too busy looking for me to the south heading towards Inazuma as I made false tracks heading that way.

'I am but a free-spirited kitsune... I can't be tied down with marriage so soon!' I thought as I shuddered at the thought of living inside a cafe for god knows how long.

So with that I made used my kitsune magic and my lessons from Ei on electro energy to enhance my body as I quickly made my way down to Mondstadt and then I quickly hitched a ride inside a caravan and used an illusion to make myself invisible to allow me to sneak into the city with myself climbing atop the buildings to servery what was below.

'Now... I need a place to lay low. Where can I lay low where I can get entertainment, and make some amount of mischief?' I mused with a small giggle before I paused.

"Oh... Now that's a perfect idea." I muttered as I found my target.

Mona Megistus, the friend of Fischl who I went to Sumeru with. And said prophet/astrologer was actually with Fischl herself.

I followed the two girls as they went about their days and when Oz, Fishl's bird companion who was Fishl's familiar noticed me I waved my tail at him in greeting before pointing my tail at Mona and Fishl to get their attention.

And it seems Oz got their attention as the two girls looked towards me and I waved my tails at them before pointing one of my tails at a nearby empty alleyway.

From there I leapt down the building I was on and climbed atop a box in the alleyway waiting for the two girls to come and within a couple of moments they entered the alleyway. "Many a day has passed since the Prinzessin der Verurteilung has lain thine eyes upon the Prince of the Land of Storms... What fated winds have brought you to this land beset by darkness!?" 

Magical lights swirled around my form as I turned into my human kitsune form with my nine white tails swirling around me as I slowly opened my eyes to look upon Fischl with her blushing at my transformation as my appearance was still... Distracting for her.

"Oh, rightful sovereign of the Immernachtreich. I have been beset by treachery most foul... I was meeting with Shenhe's great master. The Retainer of Clouds, she who flies upon the wind and is unshaken by any storm. Our meeting went well... But I was forced to flee Liyue!"

I clutched a hand over my chest as I pulled at my natural kitsune talent for acting and trickery as I took a deep breath and spoke. "Treachery most foul indeed... But hours after I arrived, one of the Adepti of Liyue must have sold me out! As before long, three... Three of the terrible Harbingers of the Fatui arrived in the hallowed grounds of Jueyan Karst!"

Fischl gasped while Mona raised an eyebrow as she created a magical glyph out of water and my lips almost twitched as she seemingly did her own projections and sorcery to divine if I was telling the truth.

But either way, I continued undaunted as I knew I could always bullshit something about the Adepti's lands being protected from magical scrying.

"So, I made false trails... One leading to the far beaches and mountains of Liyue separating it to Fontaine along with another false trail leading to the far south as though I was trying to head back to Inazuma."

But then Mona spoke up with a frown. "Bloody moon over ten thousand mountains... Blood was indeed spilled in Liyue in the regions of the holy mountains. So you did indeed flee at the right time."

Mona refocused on myself and then she bowed slightly and said in greeting. "Mona Megistus. I am an astrologer, if you need something divined or want to know of auspicious dates for events please ask me for help." 

I blinked at hearing all that... Before I took a deep breath and asked softly. "Can... Can you please divine the fate of my friend Shenhe. And my adoptive mother the Raiden Shogun?" 

Fischl's face became sympathetic and she turned to her friend with a plea-filled face with Fischl's familiar Oz pitching in. "If the Fatui has made a major move in Liyue, such information could be of value to the Adventure's Guild along with the Knights of Favonius." 

And hearing the word 'valuable' Mona nodded with a proud smile crossing her face as another water glyph formed in her hands with the glyph spinng in place as she poked it and several symbols came up.

"Hmm... Shenhe of Liyue, one of the Adepti or at least a student. I see, yes she is covered in the Shadow of Anger, blood has been split at her own hands. And she is currently following the Huntsman's shadow as she seeks the source of her anger in revenge for injust blood spilt." 

I frowned at hearing that. 'Did the Fatui really fucking show up at Jueyan Karst looking for my ass?' I thought incredulously. As that would be... Insane honestly.

But either way. I coughed and got to the real question and point in which I wanted to meet with the two. "Anyway... I wanted to ask you a question Fischl, do you have any suggestions of where I can lay low for a couple of weeks? I got money obviously for rent, but I need a magically shielded area." 

I had a sinking suspicion that I was still leaking essence from the Gnosis despite my time power eating all the energy to make Nahida and I match our mental ages with adult bodies.

And that leaking essence was how the Fatui was tracking my ass across Teyvat somehow.

The two girls shared a look before Mona asked slowly. "Just curious... But what is your monthly budget for rent?" 

I brought a tail up to my lips as I thought about it and then said honestly. "For an area that is magically shielded... Probably three hundred thousand Mora a month?" 

It's not like I was at all low on Mora. Before I left Inazuma, I made sure my mother's vault of Mora which she never touched was able to be cleaned of its dust after a few centuries of disuse.

Mona patted her chest and then with a shameless smile, she announced. "I will take you as my roommate! My house is warded to even avoid the gaze of the heavens as I use my astrology to seek heaven's secrets!"
