Genshin/Hunter Chapter 118

The trip back to Liyue Harbor was quick enough without any major event besides us dealing with a couple of Ruin Guards that were roaming around the countryside. But once we arrived back in Liyue... There was a major fucking problem.

"How... How did this happen." I said hollowly as I stared at the burnt-down wreck of our home in Liyue Harbor.

Eula who was covered in a bit of smoke and soot just turned and stared at the Raiden Shogun, with Ei coming online as it were with her Electro energy filling the puppets eyes with her divine might.

And seeing that... Ashamed look upon her form as we picked her up from the Liyue Millieth. I realized she was the one who burned down our house!

"I... I didn't realize that you couldn't be deep frying food in a wok over an open fire." She said with shame in her expression.

My hand went directly to my face as I wanted to scream. But in the end, I took a deep breath. And spoke. "Eula, Ei, are you both alright?" The both of them nodded so I exhaled and said with some calm.

"Ok... We owned the property technically so we aren't in any major trouble with the Liyue Qixing, and you both are alright. So I say that although you aren't allowed to cook anymore Ei, we still rent-"

A cough rang out with Lumine poking me in the side. "Jake, we should just help Cloud Retainer get the materials to build whatever house she wants in the Sereantea Pot. Then let's just go back to Mondstadt." 

I blinked as Paimon added. "Yeah! We should just go back to Mondstadt, its been a few months since you've been there Jake, and the Windblum Festival is supposed to be happening soon. Right Eula?"

Eula made a humming noise before she nodded and said. "Yes, the Windblum festival is very soon indeed. And Lisa is still mad at Lumine for selling Jake off to the adepti... I would be interested in seeing Lumine running into Lisa without you there again Jake haha." Eula almost cackled evilly at the end.

With that I exhaled as I looked at the literal stack of slightly smoking wood and stone that was my home here in Liyue for a couple of months and I felt Lumine give me a firm one-armed hug as she spoke calmly. "All things pass Jake, come on... Let's get out of here before Ningguang decides to have Yelan put us in jail or something." 

I summoned up my Anemo Hypostasis and with what few belongings Eula saved via her cryo vision slowing the flames stored in her spatial bag. We flew out of Liyue like the guilty fucks we were...

As Ei literally did a whoopsie arson, and although I doubted Ningguang had the bravery to try to put an Archon into jail or something... God knows what could happen, and I didn't want the trouble.

"Flying North-East instead of just straight North and South basically to get to the Adepti's lands this time." Lumine observed as she relaxed against me as we flew at high speed towards Mondstadt.

And in that vein I happily noted. "Its definitely amazing that we don't have to worry about that damned endless ice storm around the Dragonspine Mountain anymore." 

Actually the thought kinda niggled at my mind so I turned to Eula and asked. "Actually, how long has the storm there been going on?" 

Eula was quiet for a moment before she answered with a grimace. "It has raged since before the Archon War itself. And then it only lulled during the dark years when the dark dragon invaded Mondstadt and then the eternal storms intensified as though to seal away the dark dragon's remains in endless ice." 

And I knew why she was grimacing because it was a reminder of her clan's very storied past of being known as a terrible tyrant and part of a depraved dynasty as she normally called it.

Ei actually had something to say to that as well. "The Sky Forge Nail... Typically the nail is shot from Celestial and then detonated deep underground to seal off invasions of the abyss. A similar thing was used to destroy Enkanomiya and drive it underground. While Liyue had something similar happen as well in the Chasm correct Shenhe?" 

With Shenhe nodding and saying slowly. "Indeed... A bolt from the heavens bearing otherworldly power shattered the great battlefield where adepti, mortals, and others met the forces of the abyss in open warfare around the chasm which used to be an open pit mine in a plain before the Sky Forge Nail hit it with the force of many gods supposedly."

And I could understand it actually. The nail hit the ground so powerfully that the ground rippled sending all the surroundings up into a large raised wall of stone and debris.

But all this conversation did lead back to something I never quite understood. Why did Celestia nuke the old civilization that lived in the Dragonspine mountain when they didn't have any great magic, nor were they fucking about with evil forces like the abyss.

After that, our conversations switched over to more light-hearted topics, like the wine we were going to be drinking over in Mondstadt. We already planned to crash at Eula's old apartment so that wouldn't be an issue for living costs.

Then as we moved to fly over the Dragonspine Mountain as we came close to the cut off point of Liyue's territory I blinked and forced the Anemo Hypostasis to come to a stop in the air.

I could see high in the air, below us from where we were flying. There were several light shows of elemental or water magic exploding in the air as though to get our attention.

"Uhhh Paimon thinks it could be a trap." Paimon helpfully added on.

Flaring some electro energy through my body to enhance my senses I peered off into the distance... And I blinked as I saw several flares of hydro magic pop off. 'Oh... Its Mona.' I thought with amusement as I brought the Anemo Hypostasis towards the astrologer who was on the ground and clearly waiting for us.
