She asked me to properly take her home and knock her up with my child and marry her.
Soooo yeah she clearly had some kind of hero worship for me, but either way after giving back the stacked blond her huge gun that was like half again as tall as I was. I spoke up. "Well, we are heading back to Lundhaven. Queen Iyana if you are with me won't attack you if she doesn't want to get smacked down by the Light Goddess And she shoudn't go after us in general as we are keeping well out of her way and if anything are only doing quests that help her realm."
Drakia however coughed and said wryly. "Well... She might have some pointed words for you, during the little celebration she has planned to throw tomorrow night remember?"
My face twitched at the reminder before I took a breath and asked Irabel quickly. "How much does a teleportation circle cost to get back to New Atha?"
As Rose muttered something about me being shameless, Irabel gave a weak smile and answered my question almost hesitantly. "It costs one hundred gold coins per person."
'Holy fucking shit that is expensive!' I thought that all the quests I had done so far wouldn't even equal a single gold coin and the starting funds that Queen Tilda had given me were literally only a hundred golden coins.
So there was no fleeing via teleportation for me, though I couldn't help but grouse. "Dammit... Why is teleportation so stupidly expensive?"
Irabel gave me an odd look before she blinked and said excitedly. "Ah you are new to this world so it makes sense! Commercial teleportation is so extremely expensive as the mages who run the teleportation have to use expensive reagents and samples taken from the teleportation site along with divining the location before the teleportation as earthquakes and the worlds rotation can make you teleport into a wall or a box."
"So with all the factors including the fact that teleportating someone will typically put a mage into a short coma out of mana exhaustion is why it is so expensive." Irabel finished explaining with her taking a breath that made her large chest bounce heartily with the motion.
Exhaling I shook my head and said. "Whatever, we will burn this bridge when we come to it. Well Irabel, will you come with us to Lundhaven or you going to try to make it back to New Atha on your own?"
While Irabel bit her lower lip in thought I properly took in her form while she was distracted and I had to say... Not bad to say the least. She wore a tight-fitting red dress that clung to her very voluptuous frame with her long knee-length blond hair shining in the dungeon's torches while having soft ruby-colored eyes.
But after a moment of thought Irabel looked at me and with steel in her spine she asked somewhat nervously. "Uhm could I join your party? I am a skilled sniper and I am also a fire mage so I can definitely pull my weight!"
I gave Drakia and Rose a look... But they just shrugged leaving it up to me, as the party leader and the so called destined hero.
'Well she does have a huge Punt Gun and if her prior words about enhancing the buckshot with exploding fireballs with each pellet. That could be a good way to clear chaff and then she could switch to slug rounds to deal with elite enemies...' I thought thinking of the pros and then as I went to consider the cons there was obviously how Iyana was irrated with her but that could be a bonus actually.
Not to mention that keeping the daughter of such a high-rated member of New Atha's government close to me would shield me from nobles causing me as many issues.
After a moment of thought, I gave a small nod and said more seriously. "Alright, I will accept you Irabel Clouds. You are now a part of my party... Now lets get going out of this dungeon so we can turn in our quests and I can relax for a bit."
-
While making our way out of the dungeon and back to Lundhaven we made small talk with our new party member and learned more about her. First being that she was also a worshipper of the Light Goddess though not really that devout being that she was a mage.
Secondly, her father New Atha's Keeper of Coin, was a tired old man who happily sent his daughter away on adventures as she would drive him up the wall basically as Irabel was a 'hero' who was obsessed with meating out justice to evil and slaying monsters, bandits, and illegal slavers.
Lastly... And this was a personal observation, but she was clearly a fucking airhead with more tits then brains. Sure she could blow a bird out of the sky from like three hundred meters away with zero issue, but her personality was definitely on the happy-go-lucky side of things.
Though thankfully she clearly did have a head on her shoulders as she realized that Iyana was the one who stuffed her into that chest. And in that vein of thought I had to wonder... Did Queen Iyana throw her into the chest to purposefully get her into my party? If so, then why?
Such thoughts filled my head as I considered the ruler of Lundhaven's plans for myself as we made our way back the well-trodden roads back to Lundhaven without issue and re-entered the city without issue and likewise went to the guild to turn in my missions without any complications.
And then we rented out a nice clean inn's suite with two separate bedrooms so that Irabel could have her own room as Rose, Drakia and I could turn in early after all the trouble we had been through.
