I often shoot muses who are also either photographers or self portrait artists or both. This series is about Sharmeestha shooting some self portraits on my camera, the way she sees her frames.
And it also has my frames of her taking these self portraits. This is to show how I see her in my frames.
While there is a lot of talk of the male gaze and the female gaze in Photography especially with Nudes and Boudoir. While I agree to this gaze in true life, I truly beg to differ about it in photography , the gaze is what a photographer sees in the view finder and that decides the frame. Each photographer has a different frame based on exposure, upbringing, imagination, fantasies, ideas, comfort and gender being just one of them.
I hope this series divided into two parts , one of her by her and the next of her by me, makes some of the above clearer :)
More of these on the website and the ETH tier.
