The Urge

Even when you try to shoot your best possible combination for a given location, light, muse, vibe, genre with the available gear, the urge to reach out to the sliders, when you see your photographs on the large computer screen, is for real. ( brighten it a bit, denoise, vignette, mask, heal blah blah) It is an instinct which is from the conditioning to put out your best photographs out for the world to see. And editing is what transforms a good image to a great photograph. And that we must do all this to stand out in a crowd.

I have a few questions on this

1. If u decide not to touch them post shoot, will you subconsciously put extra effort into getting it right in the shooting stage itself.

2. Is perfection more important or body of work that shows sparks of potential

3. Do you want to be a part of the herd at all to care to stand out

Again all this needs to be discussed and agreed with the collaborator before the shoot itself. They must sign up for this adventure. I would Never spring surprises after a shoot, not would i give in to any surprises after the shoot.

Also I am now shooting raw plus fine to allow me to directly share the jpegs just after re-naming which I do on light-room.

TIP:

I ve set the Light Room to import to Camera Settings instead of Default Adobe Settings.

Also, these are all ideas not to an excuse to lazy self to put out badly shot photographs. We must do justice to the technology atleast ;)

This is from my shoot this week, I am calling it Too Short, as the time I had with my muse was disappointingly short.
