While we all live in exciting times, where creating has become so democratic and connecting has become so easy, the whole system is controlled by organisations who also place restrictions in the form of guidelines to control what can be put out and what is not as ok for their audiences. The audiences themselves have no say or control in what they feel is acceptable to view or consume.
While there are ways of sharing some work, by censoring it smartly carefully skillfully but there is always a sense of a sword hangong over creators like us, where we stand to lose our accounts and thus also our connection with our world.
While we want to keep our connections but want to share our work as well, it forces us to find avenues to share our work in the way it was created without being judged or censored.
The work I create is very very loud and I have no qualms about it. In fact it is a reflection of the trust my muses/ collaborators place upon me and my craft to allow to me get in and create inside their most intimate and private spaces. With more and more collaborators the more we create the more boundaries disappear, and the work that we make is now purely what we can imagine in our heads. There are no other factors restricting our creations in terms of socially accepted norms and phrases abd categories etc.
Now just creating is half the fun. To be able to share it with the world in a way it has been created is what gives me joy ( not validation, i care no fucks for it)
To that effect, I found Patreon and my Website as places where I can not only share my work, but also have a fair bit of an understanding as to who is consuming it too. It gives me a perfect balance of freedom and security.
