Added 2022-10-07 07:30:55 +0000 UTCThe first question i ask my collaborators is what are your boundaries. Similarly I made some boundaries / rules for myself right at the start of my shooting life 4 years ago.
I get just a saturday to shoot, sometimes 2 in a month. So i try to spend it making pictures. Also i just do not have the time to meet people before my shoots. Even though I for this genre maybe some people prefer to meet each others to gauge the person.
Which maybe fair, but given my time constraint and my uo-front straight talk I rarely have faced an issue with my collaborators cos we could not meet before the shoot.
I think for this genre clear, crisp communication is key. You can say what you like, what is on your mind before your shoot. It is for the collaborator to make of what you are saying.
If you are convinced of your craft and what you want to create there is no stopping you.
